Anastatia,
Thanks for the great tips!! I will do as you suggested and hopefully have the same success! I am not overly worried about not passing because I am a pretty good test taker and have good reasoning skills. I will take my first test on Monday and will probably have studied about 8-10 hours at that point. I hope it's enough!!!
Thanks and good luck in the future!!!

Well I took the MIS test today and I passed!!!! I studied about 15 hours over the weekend and was able to sqeeze out a passing score!!!!!!! I plan on taking a test a week for the next 9 weeks, and this time I plan on studying in smaller time slots throughout the entire week, rather than cramming at the end.
The flashcards helped A LOT and I do not think I would have passed without them. I pretty much memorized all of the flashcards and then took all 3 Peterson's tests. The flashcards helped the most but there was some very useful information on the Peterson tests as well. I took the tests and then went through and looked at what answers I got wrong and then did some independent study of the terms/definitions/ect that I missed on the Peterson's test.
I don't get the people who are frustrated with passing by a margin of 3 or 5 questions - as long as you get the credit who cares!? I felt going into the test I was pretty computer literate, but I was pretty much wrong. My computer competencies had very little place in this test. An IT professional would probably have no problem with this test - but a general computer user like me will need to study!! All in all I felt the test was fair.
Now, onto Organizational Management DSST!!!

enmajors1,
It's so great to read this and literally feel your enthusiasm popping off the computer.Yes, I forget to add that I would always do all three free Peterson practice tests whenever they are available. And YES - the flashcards are terrific! I'm so thankful for this site.
It sounds like you're on a really good roll right now -- a test a week for 9 weeks sounds like the insane sort of schedule I was following. Are you working these days too? It's a hefty goal, but it sounds like you're up to it.
Keep me posted on your progress!!!

Thanks for the encouragement! I do work, but thankfully only part time. However I have two school age kids and baseball and soccer are now in full practice mode! I feel very busy right now and studying is the last thing I feel like doing, but it will be all worth it when I am able to lounge at the pool with the kids this summer and not worry about homework, tests or papers that are due on Monday!
I am studying for Or. Behavior right now and with my many years of management and gen. business behind me, I feel confident this will be an easy one. Just in case though, I am studying a lot and will take every practice exam out there.
I guess you can enjoy the summer now as well - since you are already done!

Relax? No. Enjoy summer, hopefully, but the BS was just the first in a long line of things I need to do to recreate my life.
Now I am doing the P90X boot camp-style 90 day workout program - and I expect I'll do that at least twice. I was in a bad car accident years ago and I have to rebuild the muscle I lost.
I'm also working on a book that I will probably self publish and sell as an e-book about the holistic behavioral/organizational work that I do. I also need to find a way to make more money so I can afford grad school. I'm looking into becoming a Trade Show speaker.
So, relax? Definitely not. Lounging by the pool sounds great though - wish I could join you!
I will say that I found the Organizational Behavior test to be one of the easier ones, but in saying that, I still hope you will study as hard as you are now just to cover your bases.

Well I passed Org. Behavior today (61)! I am taking HR Management on Friday and I read that one is closely related to the OB test, so I am hoping that 10 hours of study this week will get me through that one! I was also thinking of taking an exam on Monday, as I can spend a lot of time over the weekend studying. What do you suggest as a cram worthy test? Business Ethics? Soviet Union? Criminology? Civil War? Substance Abuse? They are all on my list. My goal is to take a test each Monday and Friday for the next 4 weeks, that way I will only have to take 2-3 tests after we get back from vacation in May.
You sound SO busy but very motivated and that is the key to success! Be persistent with your goals and don't allow yourself to perform any less than you know you are capable of! I have friends that have done P90X and have had very good results. I do my own diet/exercise plan and have lost 15 lbs this year already. I plan on losing another 15 in the next 6 weeks and will then be 10 short pounds away from my "lifetime" goal! If you would like information on my diet, which I guarantee will get you losing 3 pounds a week and feeling good, just let me know. It has worked well for me. Two years ago I began my weight loss journey by losing 50 lbs between January 1 - May 10th. I kept all but 10 pounds off and then started the diet again in full force just a few weeks ago. So far, so good!
Thanks for your advice!
Emily

Congrats on both passing the test and on the weight loss!!!
I didn't take Criminology, so I can't comment on that one, but I assure you that the Civil War, Soviet Union, and Substance Abuse are not that cram worthy.
Although I didn't take the Soviet Union test, I did read the forum and the IC cards, and it in no way looked cram worthy to me.
Someone like me could in theory have crammed for Substance Abuse (I worked in a Rehab Center as a Body/Mind Therapist), but even so, I needed more than a long weekend.
I found the Civil War to be the most interesting subject I tested in, but I had to work really hard to prep for that one. While I was studying for that one, friends would call and I would be so involved in the unfolding story, I'd say something like "Lincoln has just been shot! Can I call you back later?"
Business Ethics is actually a test I think is cram worthy -- most especially if you have already taken regular Ethics.
I don't have much weight to lose - maybe 8 lbs. total, but I'm petite so it feels like a lot. Mostly I need to rebuild muscle which which reshape me and speed up my metabolism. I'm done with week 2 of P90X and loving it. Feeling stronger everyday. My diet is very clean already: veggies, low-fat protein, a bit of fruit, and some whole grains.
Let me know how you do on the next test!
