Speaking of "ideal position," I was poking around the university now website today and just happened upon this job description:

They are seeking someone with a master's degree and a background in Criminal Justice to develop multiple choice test content for undergraduate courses.

Careers at UniversityNow

Maybe you could do this in your spare time between teaching classes and acquiring your PhD.
I don't know what the future holds, but I know Who holds the future.

This has ITT written all over it. LOL! But regardless I agree with others I think the experience would still be good for you and I'd be surprised if this would your chances for other teaching jobs in the future.

BTW: I may have missed it, but what school are you referring too?

Since I have such a negative opinion of the school, I'd prefer not to say. They might find me out.

Even ITT Tech would be better than this school. This school is located in a mall, and it has an embarrassing name. If you are a San Antonian who has figured it out, please don't say it.

The best thing I can do is to find a silver lining for my students. I think this school charges $10,000-$15,000 a year. These students could have completed an associates in CJ at the Alamo Community Colleges for about $2,000 per year online or on campus. If they want to get into parole/probation, social services, or any other non-law enforcement job that pays a living wage, then they are going to need a bachelor's degree. This school does not offer bachelor's degrees in CJ. All I can do is direct them to the few RA schools that accept ACICS credits.

Ok I'll stop with the guessing game because I know my next guess will be right =) Just got to watch one episode of the People's Court to confirm my suspicion I agree with and respect your decision to not post the name of the school, especially after such a ringing endorsement lol. I'm sure this will be just your first wobbly step which will give you experience and confidence to sprint on to bigger and better things.
