Humanities Not Offered in Texas?
#1
I've checked with two schools that I've attended, and none of the test centers provide humanities CLEP - nor schools accept it.

Anyone had a humanities credit accepted to a school in Texas? I've attended Texas Tech University and South Plains College.

Thanks

My B&M school in CT doesn't accept the Humanities CLEP either. I would check to see if you can use some other test. I haven't had good luck when I ask which tests will satisfy the humanities I need. It is actually frustrating, like I am the first person that ever asked about CLEP exams. Maybe you will have better luck.
TESTS PASSED

Intro to Law Enforcement (70) DSST, Criminal Justice (461) DSST, US History 1 (71) CLEP, US History 2 (66) CLEP, Civil War & Reconstruction (67) DSST
Business Ethics & Society (447) DSST, Principles of Management (65) CLEP, Principles of Supervision (450) DSST, Organizational Behavior (60) DSST
Rise & Fall of the Soviet Union (56) DSST, Intro to World Religions (469) DSST, Management Info Systems (448) DSST, Prin of MACROeconomics (63)
Prin of MICROeconomics (64) CLEP, Labor Relations (A) ECE, HR Management (B) ECE, Principles of Financial Accounting(65) DSST, Prin of Finance (408) Money and Banking (52) DSST

I was under the general impression that you, the student, could register for whatever exam you wanted to take (perhaps from a pull down tab) and send the results to whatever school you wished.

Exactly, if they are a testing center then they have a passcode to the exam site. At the site (like Shoto says) they simply select from the drop down box. What the school ACCEPTS is up to them, but if they offer CLEP, then you can pick any exam.

The University of Houston grants 3 semester hours of noncore fine arts elective credit for a 52 on the CLEP Humanities exam.

Houston Community College gives credit for ENGL 2333 World Literature II and ARTS 1301 Art Appreciation.

Most schools in Texas do not give credit for passing the Humanities exam.
63 CLEP Sociology
75 CLEP U.S. History II
63 CLEP College Algebra
70 CLEP Analyzing and Interpreting Literature
68 DSST Technical Writing
72 CLEP U.S. History I
77 CLEP College Mathematics
470 DSST Statistics
53 CLEP College Composition
73 CLEP Biology
54 CLEP Chemistry
77 CLEP Information Systems and Computer Applications

I am at Tech and South Plains as well.

Tech or LCU will set up any CLEP exam for you since both are official CLEP testing centers. Tech won't accept the humanities CLEP, but you they will accept Western Civ I to fulfill your core requirement for a Tech undergrad degree.

If you are just needing to take the CLEP to sent it to another school, I would call up LCU because there testing center is used far less and the admin over there is a sweet little lady that is super flexible with testing times.
