You all really are awesome! Thank you so much for the quick answers to my questions and valuable information. The ACTFL looks like a great option and I will certainly look further into that.
It is really nice to hear that while many changes are "bad" or hurt the strategies of many people, there are also many good changes that have come along recently as well. I guess since it is now about July, I won't worry about enrolling for 2016 and will instead focus on knocking out as many courses and/or tests as I can and really worry about locking in next year. Hopefully nothing major changes for 2017.
Happydayruth- thank you for offering your help! I am going to look around a bit more on the forum and try to make the best choice for myself and my situation. I will definitely keep you in mind for if/when I decide to pursue a degree in English. My inquiry will likely come at 3:00am on some random day as I'm in the midst of reading hundreds more forum posts haha.
I really can't thank you all and this website in general for all of the work and information put into this forum. Researching information and going to college as an adult with a job and a family full of active, little kids seemed very scary and you have all made it seem possible. I always avoided even really looking into college options at this point in my life until recently because the thought of needing 4 years to get an associate's and another 4 years to finish a bachelor's while doing things slowly sounded so exhausting.
