I think I will be taking this in a couple of weeks and I am in the process of studying for it. I am using a couple of used college textbooks which seem to be covering things well, however,as opposed to what I have seen in the Exam feedback section they seem to have a lot of history content. I was wondering if anyone could give me feedback on the importance (or not) and or context of the historical knowledge for the exam.

some basic history knowledge is a must because it will give you a better chance to select the correct answer using the process of elimination. Study wide, not deep for this exam!
