SS4 Wrote:Hey, I would not fret over this exam. I took it a while back and it was very straight forward and easy, compared to some where you are required to know more than basic facts. I used Instant Cert, Standard Deviants: Psychology, and Barron's EZ-101 Study Keys: Psychology to prep for the exam. Hope you do well on the Exam. All the best, SS4
Oh I forgot to mention, I also used the
REA Study Guide for Introductory Psychology. It was VERY helpful. It has 3, full length, practice exams and explanations. I would recommend looking at that for sure.

Don't give up. Maybe you are just kind of burned out. Maybe if you take a couple of weeks off things will look better. It is hard and it is stressful, but we are all here for you.

Oh no!
I know what it's like to fail a test, not fun! Believe me, I've failed plenty in my test-taking time. I've always discovered that, usually, I can learn something from the experience. For example, maybe I didn't study hard enough and just wasn't committed, or I needed to approach the exam differently, or I needed to take it differently, or...and I could go on and on. From what I've picked up from your messages, you are probably approaching this subject for the first or second time. The most important thing that I always want to take away from the exam is knowledge. Did I learn something? Of course, the credits and time are of huge importance too, but if you don't get them, you need to look at what you have to show for that time you just spent prepping. Please don't give up! Keep at it. I'm sure there have been, and will be plenty more passing scores if you keep at it. That has been my experience.

Im not giving up. Im just taking a really long break. My testing center is closing also, for something down the line of the collage is cutting off their funding. I have my reasons for taking a break.

I felt the same way when I didn't pass ECE Org Beh, but you know what? I forced myself to push past it, and not let allow that ONE (monkey) stop me from reaching my goal. After one week of wallowing in sorrow, I took an "easy" exam to help me regain my confidence, and I've been moving forward ever since. Now, I try to keep my focus on the final prize (the degree) and not the process, and this is a process. In the end, as long as you win the war (degree), it won't even matter so much that you didn't win the individual battles, errr exams. So, don't beat yourself up, and don't allow yourself to give up either. You can do it. Keep going, you'll be glad that you did.
How many credits do you have?
Anne,
Next up: SPHR Exam again, missed it by 50 pts first attempt....
