Hello, I am taking my second exam on friday (the human growth and development). I have been studying off and on for 5 weeks now but I am a horrible test taker and I am so afraid I am going to fail miserable. There doesn't seem to be alot of info available when I use the search function for this exam.. any thoughts/feedback/ or tips?
I noticed there have been a couple people that have successfully taken the exam in the last couple weeks I was wondering if they had any info to share that might help anyone taking this exam feel a little more prepared.
Thanks!

It would be helpful to have a little more information from you. Have you taken any of the Psych Cleps such as Intro to Psych, Educational Psych etc.?? If you have taken other psych tests that will give you a foundation to build on. I took this test last month and I studied 8 weeks for it because I had never taken a clep and didn't know what to expect. Also, I haven't been in college for over 25 years so I needed to brush up on study skills etc. I used the REA book to give me a good overview, Wiki, I also used Sparknotes.com, and the Specific Exam Feedback on this site. You have to be a paying member ($20 a month) to access the Exam Feedback. In the Feedback there are many posts of people that just took the test and what people recommend to study and what is most likely to be on the test. I would highly recommend that you pay to access that part of the website. Hope this helps!

Hi Creative, No I haven't taken any psych tests.. I am 3 tests away from having my bachelors in Business Administration so I have very little background of this kind of stuff. I am a paying member of the IC site and still have found very little for this test. The previous test I took Here's to your health there was an abundence of data available that I felt help me, I don't see so much of that available for the HG and D test. Thats why I was asking for any feedback. I am definitely using what has been listed in the specific exam forum but not alot of that info is recent and there is a new version of the exam so thats another reason I was asking for any additional info on the exam.
Thanks! :-)

ok, glad you looked at the specific exam feedback. I think the posts in there are pretty accurate. Its hard to remember this test because I took this a month or more ago and have had a few since this one and it all seems a blur now

I would make a list of what people suggested in the feedback section--it might look like there isn't much in there-- but if you make a list it will add up to quite a bit. Make sure you go through the flashcards as well. The thing that really helps me a lot is the free peterson practice tests. The questions on these tests are similar to the clep--and what you score on these is pretty much the ball park of what you will probably score on the clep (at least that is what it has been for me). Do a search on here for the link to the free tests. I don't have it at the moment. But those tests should help you a lot to see how much you really understand. hope this helps!

What resources are you using to prepare? I took Psychology, Sociology, and Human G&D all in a 14-day period. I read the REA book for each before testing and had no problem.
CLEP exams passed:
American Government 60
Human Growth & Development 62
Psychology 66
Sociology 67
English Composition w/Essay 77
Spanish 77
Microeconomics 61
Macroeconomics 61
Financial Accounting 64
Biology 70
US History I 58

I'm using IC flashcards and the REA guide as well as practice tests.
I think I'm taking advantage of everything I can study, there is just SO much info, its making me nervous. I did do what Creative posted, and made a list of the specific feedback so I have a couple more days before I take test so I plan to go through the fashcards a couple more times and then focus on the specific info that was listed in the specific forum.
