I achieved a certificate in process technology from my local community college (25.5 CU). I did all my general education with sophia, but my local CC does not accept it. So I am going with BOG AAS emphasis in process technology. How would I list that on a resume? Would I have to put BOG? Or could I put "AAS emphasis in process technology" and be considered correct ? Also, some jobs ask if I have a degree in process technology, could I technically say yes ?

"AAS emphasis in process technology"
That's what I would go with. I am not sure the Board of Governors thing is relevant to anything.

Technically, No. And it's a big no... Pierpont BOG AAS doesn't have an emphasis in what you are looking for: https://catalog.pierpont.edu/content.php...avoid=1483
I would list it as exactly what they give you at Pierpont, I would highly suggest you fill in the addendum and template so we know if you're going to ladder this to a Bachelors later on.

I looked up process technology on the link you sent and courses came up.

There is a mistake in quoting my reply, you've answered within the quotes... Anyways, yes, I am correct, you can't use Process Technology as that's not an emphasis. You have to use what they provide you, in this case, Energy (if you have all the requirements for that emphasis fulfilled). It's up to them to decide, not me, I'm just relaying what I know to you and whoever is reading. Again, they do not have a Process Technology Emphasis, thus they can't give you that option...

This was a hot topic when I was working through the process and misinformation was rampant. So I asked Nancy a very simlair question and the below was her response.
"None of those options is correct. Your degree program was the Board of Governors; you did not earn the Information Systems degree. You need to be very transparent.
Pierpont Community & Technical College, Fairmont, WV - 20XX
Associate of Applied Science degree, Board of Governors program
Area of Emphasis: Information Systems
If they ask follow-up questions, say, "This was an adult degree completion program, and because I had 15 or more credit hours in Information Systems related coursework, I have an "area of emphasis" notation on my final transcript."
If you have any additional certifications in computer-related courses, list those separately"

That's the balanced mix/match trifecta of certs, degree, experience, you want to list the degree as what Pierpont gives you. Thus, it'll be something like this, you can also add the cheapies/freebies on the WIKI, some Coursera/TEEX certs can be used towards the UMPI BAS or BLS degree, you can take additional Sophia.org classes as well and list that on your resume...
Pierpont Community & Technical College
Associate of Applied Science, Board of Governors
Area of Emphasis: Energy - Or whatever they provide you on the transcript

As you can see in my signature, I prefer the long form, but I suppose if you wanted to minimize everything except the AOE, you could use acronyms, something like:
Pierpont Community & Technical College
AAS - BOG, AOE: Information Systems
Nothing is excluded, but it minimizes distractions to increase the odds that a quick scan will allow them to notice the one thing you want them to notice.
Pierpont Community & Technical College 2022
Associate of Applied Science - Board of Governors - Area of Emphasis: Information Systems
Western Governors University 2022
Bachelor of Science - Cloud Computing
Charter Oak State College 2023
Bachelor of Science - General Studies - Concentration: Information Systems Studies
Thomas Edison State University 2023
Bachelor of Arts - Computer Science
Associate in Science in Natural Sciences and Mathematics - Mathematics
University of Maine at Presque Isle 2023
Bachelor of Applied Science - Minor: Project Management

You have a lot of flexibility in listing your degree depending on the accepted area of emphasis, example:
A.A.S. Associate of Applied Science (BOG) AoE Information Systems or,
A.A.S. (BOG) AoE Information Systems
If anyone asks what "BOG" stands for you tell them "Board of Governors" which is an interdisciplinary degree that allows for a concentration (area of emphasis).
