I'm a little surprised to find that I can't figure out TESC's BSBA Finance requirements. It says, "Required subjects: 6" but doesn't list anything thereunder. It just goes right to concentration electives. Am I missing something? I see that Business Policy is required for the degree, but that isn't under the concentration area, that I can tell. If anyone has a degree template/roadmap that has worked for TESC Finance, I would love to see it/get a copy.
Here's the Finance page in their catalog:
Thomas Edison State College | BSBA in Finance Credit Distribution
Also, is there an upper level requirement for a business degree at TESC? If yes, where does it state that in the catalog?
Thanks!
Jake

Hi Jake!
I am also pursuing my BSBA in Finance, but through CollegePlus! and then through TESC. I am not sure all the requirements that they have, since Collegeplus! outlined my degree plan for me, but I will give you what I am planning on taking from them and what I have.
First I am taking 4 course-work only classes from SNHU and then transferring these credits to finish out my degree with TESC. I will take my last 5 class requirements through TESC.
1. Business in Society TECEP(Which I may ask to take the new upper level Business Ethics DSST instead of this class)
2. Business in Policy TECEP
3. Security Analysis and Portfolio Mangament TECEP
4. International Finance TECEP
5. Managerial Communications
I hope that this may help some! If you have any other questions please message me.
Blessings ~Kelsey

Thanks for the info, Kelsey. It doesn't let me know which ones are *required,* (I.e., those could just be merely subject electives and your four classes might include those that are required), but I appreciate the info nonetheless.
Thanks again! :-)
If anyone else would like to chime in, I would appreciate it.

According to the catalog the only "required subject" is Security Analysis and Portfolio Management. You should be able to fulfill the other 3 credits they list with any finance course.

Thanks. I had not checked that. I just assumed the listing in the "Academic Programs" listings (
http://www.tesc.edu/2902.php). There, it doesn't say anything about Security Analysis and Portfolio Management as a requirement, like the catalog does (
Degree Program: Finance, BSBA - Thomas Edison State College - acalog ACMSââ¢. Thanks again.

I think this is incorrect, though I'm welcome to be shown otherwise. If that were the case, wouldn't that just make it an area of study course like all of the others? In other words, if it could be anything, it ceases to be a required course (any more than any of the other subject area courses). I'm thinking that the listing of 6 credits on the first link I posted is just an error. Regardless, it's only one course. Not a big deal one way or the other.
