How to enroll after graduation? No INTERNSHIP!!
#1
Hello.  I just graduated with my BA in Computer Science.  Unfortunately I didn't apply to any software engineering internships while in school which has put me at a huge disadvantage right now while looking for a job.

What I am trying to do now is enroll back into TESU with maybe the BS in Bachelor of Science (Data Science and Analytics) or even the masters program.  I want to get student status again.

I don't plan on graduating.  I just want the student status so I can apply to internships.  What is the cheapest way I can go about this.  Any suggestions are welcome.

Thank you.

Reapply and register for the 1cr Medical Terminology TECEP. You will then be an enrolled student again. If you had left an unfinished degree program on your student account, you could have stayed enrolled after graduation. I recommend everyone add on an associates, second bachelors, or even an undergrad cert, just keep enrolled student status after graduation.

Even if you have an unfinished degree or certificate program, TESU sometimes "kicks you out" after graduation. So reapplying is necessary anyway. Just apply for a certificate and pay for the Medical Terminology TECEP. If you already passed that TECEP, any 3-credit LL TECEP will work but will cost more money.

I unfortunately made a similar mistake during my BSCIS/BSIT programs. While I did land a great internship covering the last two years, it wasn't tech-related. Now that I'm looking for employment in a technology role, I don't meet the qualifications for most job openings because I don't have the experience. Even "entry-level" stuff these days wants to see at least 1-2 years of work history in the field.
I get that TESU is focused on adults who likely have some existing work history, but it's disappointing that they do absolutely nothing here. Students who fall into this gap are likely to experience poor outcomes which negativity impacts the university. TESU should at least inform students about this aspect of career success.

If I were to reapply for a certificate.  Is there anyway that I can make it seem like I am pursuing a second degree when they check for transcripts at an internship?

I'm not sure that the transcript shows what you're pursuing? I could be wrong, though. Maybe apply for the BSBA CIS to be safe?

Lets say I was to apply for it and then I only take the TECEP.  Would it show in the transcript that i am enrolled for that course even im just taking the TECEP one credit course?

I don't think the degree you've declared will show on a transcript. However, they should see lots of courses that would apply to that degree, and you can always explain that you're working on courses at SDC, Statistics.com, etc...

You can get transcripts anytime you want at after graduation. You can apply to TESU, take the TECEP for enrollment purposes, it won't show on your transcript as you've not taken the exam yet, in progress, not taken, or failed exams, do not show on your transcript, only the passed ones will as it would add a credit to your total. Add the BS in Bachelor of Science (Data Science and Analytics) and also the Bachelors to Masters option if you wanted to...
