How to Complete a Business Degree at TESC for Less than University of the People

I hope I didn't make any mistakes. I'll make the disclaimer that this degree plan can be made cheaper by those who can score high enough for 12 credits on a language CLEP and those who can complete 4 or more Straighterline courses in a month. This plan assumes that one will study before signing up for ALEKS so that all 4 courses can be passed within a month. Even with 3 extra months of fees at $20 per month, the plan still comes out below UotP's total cost of $4050. Just in case there is any confusion, I'm am using TESC's Per Credit Tuition Plan and using the TECEPs to satisfy the residency requirements. There are no residency requirements for TESC's two other tuition plans.

Sanantone, based upon your other posts on Degree Plans BSBA, as well as TESC degree requirements, I believe you left out one course under business core. Principles of Management: CLEP, Uexcel ECEP, Saylor and Straighterline. Which I assume you would use Saylor in this example since it would cost only $25.

Sanantone, I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you for your ongoing posts about degree programs, exam options and costs! I don't have a degree yet, but I'm working towards a BSBA in either GM, CIS or Marketing now that I know TESC allows graduation via their per credit tuition plan if you have 24 TECEP credits through them. (Which I also learned from your posts!) It looks like it would only cost me around $1619 to get the remaining 57 credits I need for a BSBA degree.

In trying to find a 5th UL Marketing exam I have a couple of questions for you.
1) TESC's degree plan says they offer a Marketing Management Strategy exam, but on their exam page, I don't see an exam by that title. What should I take this to mean? They no longer offer it?

2) Pennfoster offers MKT340 retail marketing as an elective for their degree program, but I can't find any way to enroll for just this single course. I know I'd need to double check its ACE approved and that TESC will accept it. But how can I register for just this course at Pennfoster?

Lastly, the information on the Ethics course for Responsibility requirements vs. the ethics course for Business core is confusing. Originally I was planning DSST Business Ethics for my General ED Requirements and TECEP BUS 311 Business in Society for my Business Core. However, I'm reading that DSST Business Ethics might be credited as BUS 311 (although one source says BUS 302).

Yes, I did leave out Intro to Management! And, yes I would use Saylor for $25! I know I would screw something up. :p

1. The TECEP is probably no longer offered. I don't think TESC forgets to remove defunct tests from their degree pages.
2. You have to call Penn Foster in order to enroll in the course. If you have trouble getting them to understand through their regular number, then call Workforce Development.
3. It might be safer to just take DSST Ethics in America for the ethics requirement. The TESC website says Business Ethics and Society is BUS-302, but it fulfills the Business in Society requirement. I never verified if it could be counted as an ethics course.
