El Salvador has not solved anything, criminals run even more rampant than ever and murders are either marked as kidnappings or COVID deaths. It has even leaked there's a treaty with gangs and they have privileges now.
Bukele is just another Liberal Front puppet, doing the same treaties with gangs Funes and Sánchez Cerén did. He literally called the "D´Abuisson Constitution" of 1983 a "Far-right terrorist manifesto" as it doesn´t allow reelection and anyone calling the article 88(Call to insurrection in case of reelection attempt) a "Nazi"
EDIT: Also closed the Professional Formation Institute as their curricula was not extolling the greatness of higher government control on the citizens.

If you are a criminal and want privileges, move to San Francisco.
I was researching GPS tracking devices such as Apple's AirTags and watched this video where:
- A guy had video evidence of someone stealing his bike.
- He used GPS tracking to locate the thief riding his bike in real time.
Even with a rock-solid case of someone stealing an electric bike valued at around $1000, the police didn't want to press any charges and made the victim agree to this before they helped him find his bike. Unreal.
Shoplifting in San Francisco is only a misdemeanor of up to $950, and you can't stop anyone from stealing, or you'll be arrested as the victim.

A lot of countries in Central America have taken a so-called "Trumpian" turn, according to this video.
One of the biggest problems is the very few solved murder cases in Central as compared to Western countries. Only 20% of murder cases are solved in Latin America according to the Washington Post.
In the U.S. the overall unsolved murder rate is 50% though cities such as Chicago have a mid-30s unsolved murder rate.
I believe technology such as Persistent Surveillance and Gunshot Detection Technology could do a lot to help solve murders.

El Salvador has not taken any "Trumpian turn" or anything close to that, only country in Central America on the right of the spectrum is Costa Rica, Bukele is another puppet of the National Liberal Front(former Guerrilla).

A lot of these politicians are sneaky. They make great speeches, but their policies don't align with what they say.
For example, in the U.S., we have a significant problem with out-of-control spending that causes inflation, which affects the poor the most. Trump green-lighted all the COVID spending plans, considered student-debt forgiveness, and publicly called for giving $2000 cash to each American to help him get reelected. Democrats often get blamed for the spending and inflation, but in reality, Republicans have done nothing to stop it, so they share the blame as well.
Are there any new policies you would like to see in El Salvador that would make things better?

Starting to abolishing the army, higher transparency, less taxes and giving a-la-USA gun rights like in Costa Rica could be a nice point to start to reduce corruption and crime.
The only reliable way to reduce government´s corruption in places like Latin America is to reduce government... Costa Rica gladfully learned that reason and therefore is the closest to a developed country on here.
