I haven't used SDC or SL yet. But I'm coming to the end of my CLEPs with Modern States. And we don't have $200 for SDC at the moment. So the new SL coupon ("LEAP99A" for $99 off) is a great way to jump in and hopefully complete at least two courses for $118.
But can I do three in a month?
How fast have you completed SL courses?
I'm looking at courses that aren't closely related (since SDC course overlap counts toward related courses):
Intro to Religion
American Government (think the CLEP would be too many trivia facts to remember, for me)
Business Law
Personal Finance
Business Communication
How many you can do depends on the total hours you put into it.
If you have a membership coupon, you can use course coupons after you sign up to save more. If you run out of coupons, hit cancel membership and they offer you another coupon before you cancel.
Business Communication usually will be a longer course for people because you have to write a bunch of papers. I took 2 days to write the papers.
Personal Finance is only an elective course right? That isn't part of BSBA.
Degrees: BA Computer Science, BS Business Administration with a concentration in CIS, AS Natural Science & Math, TESU. 4.0 GPA 2022.
Course Experience: CLEP, Instantcert, Sophia.org, Study.com, Straighterline.com, Onlinedegree.org, Saylor.org, Csmlearn.com, and TEL Learning.
Certifications: W3Schools PHP, Google IT Support, Google Digital Marketing, Google Project Management

So, it's like on a pause until you pay for a new membership. Try to get more done with a second monitor, to review the e-textbook while you're working on assignments (for those courses that have assignments) or working on the quizzes. I use a laptop with a second monitor for all my courses, especially the ones with many pdf documents or web links to read through...
You can't just open a second tab to view the textbook?
Obviously you can. But, I think bjcheung77 is talking about opening up both the course and the eTextbook so that you can look at them at the same time. I have a large 27" screen so it would be easy to do, not really easy on a laptop or smaller screen.
Well, no, it's not obvious. That's why I asked. I remember reading that the user can't open tabs during these exams (SDC? SL?) I thought maybe that was a method used in lieu of it. Thanks for clarifying, though.

A-ha! Thanks for this. Different coupon per course? Or can one be applied to multiple courses? I see there's a $20 discount code currently. Is that average, or what's a typical discount?
EDIT (added): Yes, personal finance is an elective, but somewhat related to financial accounting and managerial accounting. Both or those are required by many schools (can't remember if that includes TESU). So that elective just helps me understand the entire topic a little better.

Look for -59 / Buy one get one coupons.
I have only taken Eng. Comp. II through SL, it took me 1 month and a half. But have to say, the beauty is that you can cancel anytime and when you restart your progress is saved, so unlike Sophia courses where the progress isn't saved, I prefer SL for that reason.
Right now my workload doesn't allow me to take more than 1 per month anyway. Too busy. I wish I could.

BOGO! Awesome. I looked up "Straighterline Buy one get one free coupons" and found there's currently a "Buy one course, save $49 off second course" coupon.

About two weeks usually. Accounting 2 had some difficult concepts for me to wrap my head around. Everyone here said business law was difficult but I found it much easier.

I have done them in a week and in 2 months. The classes go pretty fast. Comp II over Xmas was a mistake with family and children... it dragged on. I sat there in one weekend and pounded out 5 essays. If you choose to wait for the drafts to come back it will be longer. It all depends on your personal ability to dedicate time and the classes that you take.
