So i think im gonna drop down the 75$ and get my credits evaluated for realsies instead of guessing and hoping and accidentally taking CLEPs I don't need.
Does anybody know how long it takes TESC to evaluate your credits? And, do they mail them or email or what?
Thank you.

hey Kevin-- I just "dropped down" my $75 last week because I am getting down to the finish line and have the same situation-- I need to know what I have left that I might need to take to finish my degree. The guy I talked to from admissions told me that once they get all your transcripts--it will be 4-6 weeks for them to give you an evaluation. So I would get your transcripts sent pronto! You have a lot of different sources like I do, and it will take awhile for them all to get there and sorted out. When the transcripts arrive at TESC-- it is posted on your personal MyEdison student account on their website. They also send you an email of the transcripts that have arrived.

They told me 4-6 weeks, but it was closer to 2. I think they emailed me, but I know it will be posted in the student services.

When I signed up, a few months back, they told me 4-8 weeks but usually closer to 4.
It took NINE.

wow, that is a long time. I had a feeling it was going to fluctuate like that--either be a long time or short. Oh well, all I can do is wait it out. Wish I had applied a few months ago but I got so caught up in testing that I actually didn't really think about it.

My dh sent his transcripts THREE times and they claim they never got them, couldn't read them, didn't get them. They were sent direct from the issuing institution and we verified that they were sent.banghead They finally gave an evaluation on 1 of the three transcripts and refused to give an evaluation including the other two without him paying an additional $75 because it took nearly a year to get the above done. It was a mess. Dh was very happy he found out before enrolling at least.:toetap:

Maybe we were just lucky, but my wife and I didn't have any trouble like the above. I think it took about 2 weeks for each of us. No transcripts were lost, nothing went awry that I recall. The only snag we had was that my wife was only 19, so at first they weren't going to admit her. They did admit her after we explained how many credits she already had amassed (around 90, I think), thus proving that she was ready for independent study. After that, it was pretty much smooth sailing.
I would bet that much of the discrepancy of how long it takes to get evaluated depends on *when* during the year you do it. If it's near the start of the school year (like now), they probably have a backlog that takes a while to go through. If it's a slower time for them, it probably goes quicker.
I'm an engineer. Go figure.
