How do you know which classes fill which requirements?
#1
When you're looking at a class description or syllabus how do you know if that class will fill a requirement for your particular degree and if so, how do you know where it will slot?

Is it just knowing from other students experiences or is there a way to check such things on the TESC site? Cause I can't figure it out and don't really want to start the advisor process yet.

For example, HIS-356 War and American Society , is there any way to find out how this would be slotted for a particular BA program?

Thanks to everyone who provides such awesome information on this site, I'm slowly getting the hang of this crazy process.

CLEP - Intro. Psych. - 63, A&I Literature - 72, Intro. Edu. Psych. - 59
ALEKS - Intermediate Algebra
FEMA - 12 Credits

You can usually just look at the course code.....in the example you provided, HIS-356 would equal an upper level Social Science/History course. Any course coded as 100/1000 or 200/2000 would be considered lower level. (Generally) anything coded at 300/3000 or above would be considered upper level.

Here is a link to a course table at Charter Oak. It shows course codes, names, whether upper or lower level, what degree requirements are met by the course, and whether or not the course is considered liberal arts. Studying this table should help you get a grasp on the idea.

80-Semester Hours at Western Governors University (2010-2012)
15-Charter Oak State College (2013)
12-CLEP
3-DSST
6-FEMA
If I can do it, ANYONE can do it![/COLOR]
