Okay, so I'm a "newbie" here. Hee hee. When I say that, I feel like an Intern on the TV show Scrubs...and I love it!
Well, I am scheduled to take my first DANTES test tomorrow. It is for Introduction to Supervision, and I am freaking out.
Here's my concern - I'm not sure if I'm over-thinking things. For instance, last night I studied up on the Equal Pay, Civil Rights, Age Discrimination, and Rehabilitation Acts. I can tell you they came in that order with the first three implemented in the 60's and the last in the 70's. I can tell you what each of them is about. However, if I am given a multiple choice question that asks me to tell the
exact year, I will not be able to do it. Am I over-thinking? I would think they would want to know more that I know what the acts mean, rather than the exact years they were implemented, but I just don't know what to expect.
Eeek!!!
PS - My spell check isn't working, so I apologize if there are spelling errors. That drives me crazy!

I took this exam this morning and I can say you are totally over-thinking. Don't feel bad though, I was in the same boat yesterday
I don't know if there are different versions of the exams or not (maybe someone else does know), but I didn't have any questions specific to any of those topics at all.
Go take a look at the Specific Exam Feedback section for this exam. It's very very accurate and helpful. Put your last bit of study time to good use!
Good luck

Hey newbie: Don't stress out! (yeah, i know... easier said than done - fair enough but allow me to be dr. cox for a second...)
The exams are scored with a scaled score of 20 to 80. Even if you are unable to wrap that monstrous pile of molassis that you affectionately call a head, around the seemingly most simple of human concepts as the years of a particular occurence, it's really just no big deal because even highly trained, articulate, well groomed, and incredibly sexy specimens such as myself, are bound to get a few questions wrong, and you only need a 50 to pass.... SOOOOOOOO, relax, drill yourself with instantcert, go over the exam specific section, and go show that test who's boss! You'll feel so much more confident after your first one. All the best!!
hilarious
You can't fail if you never give up

I'm the king of procrastination. I first submitted my app to TESC in 1993. THIS will be the year of my degree completion![/COLOR]

CLEP-Analyzing & Interpreting Literature: Scored 57; Feb 08
DANTES-Criminal Justice: Scored 54; Jan 08

DANTES-Ethics in America: Scored 55; Feb 08
DANTES-Organizational Behavior: Score 54; Mar 08

Ha ha! Thanks, I needed that "Dr Cox" attitude to put me in shape!
WendyR - Thanks so much for the information on the Specific Exam section. I had read about that on someone else's post yesterday, but must have been having a brain freeze, because I couldn't find it. I found it today though after you mentioned it. I decided to take one last look and "poof", there it was. Amazing.
Thanks to both of you for the encouragement!
