I did not list it.

List that course, it counts! I got a D in Chemistry back in 1988 and it fulfills my science requirement (it was 5cr). TESU is generous with this policy.

are there any differences between Charter Oak State College and Thomas Edison State College?

Of course there are differences because they are different schools. Exactly what the differences are depends on your specific transcript evaluations. People here can give you a good idea, but this is your life. Apply to both and find out the facts for your specific situation. Think of it as soliciting bids for your business. The winning school is the one who offers you the best deal.

Are you far from a CLEP or DSST test location? There aren't many sites like ALEKS but Saylor, Straighterline, and TECEP, testing is by ProctorU and it is done at the comfort of your home or somewhere there is a good internet connection. Study.com is the same in regards to testing the final but uses another Proctor service, Software Secure.

The majority of the time it's different in the program requirements in one college program to another.
When taking in transfer credits, each school will evaluate and transfer awarded credit differently.
Sometimes a school will transfer courses as upper credit, whereas another college, it's lower level.

I just finished my first class, it says it will send a certificate in 1-2 days by email. Will I keep this certificate to show to charter oak or Thomas edition to prove that I finished and will receive the college credit?

First off, your post is not clear; What is that class and where did you take it?
Note: If it is from an accredited institution, ACE/NCCRS recommended for credit, most likely!

If the course is from an institution with an ACE Recommendation for credit, log onto Ace Credit Registry and signup for an account.
Request the credit, it usually is in pending state and when completed, moves to the approved field.

I would create an ACE Credit Registry just to store anything that is ACE Recommended for Credit.
NCCRS courses are about the same, but the institution actually will send the transcripts themselves.

The service is free, there's no fee until you need to send transcripts.
$20 for the first one and $15 for all subsequent ones.

I believe the OP took a FEMA.

Once you complete all your FEMA just have them send a transcript of everything all at once.

TRSC doesn't take FEMA
MBA, Western Governors University February 2014
BS Charter Oak State College November 2011
AS in EMS August 2010

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this).  Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.

The schools won't accept anything but official transcripts. That means that the transcript comes directly from wherever you took this course (or from ACE if it's that kind of course). The only time you can send the transcript yourself is if you receive an official transcript in a sealed envelope from your school. You can then send the sealed transcript in yourself.
