I've lurked around the forum for a couple of years now. I am going to finish out my degree with TESC BSAST Aviation Maintenance Technology. I even started studying for a DSST, but I stopped because TESC changed the degree curriculum, again. I have not sent any transcripts from any of the CC's I've attended to them. I have 92 semester hours from the CCAF transcript alone. I have followed Sanatone, Rebel and Cookderosa since my inception to this forum. I have come up with a plan I think will get me through this curriculum, however, July is just around the corner and I want to bank as many credits as I possibly can before I apply to TESC because I think they will change the curriculum again. I know it has been discussed on the forum of how to bank credits, however, I can't seem to find the post. I will be taking CLEP, DSST and using Penn Foster and Straighterline. Any suggestions would help. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I just need some ideas from you all to get me kick started. I got back from Afghanistan in February and haven't been able to get a kick start. I'm back out on the road working and the contract and my situation has set me up so I can do this. I'm not working 70-84 hours per week like I normally do. It is time for me to take advantage of it. Please help me.

My answer is going to run long and I'm 2 hours late for bed - but wanted you to know that I saw this post and will check it again tomorrow to see if Rebel or Sanantone have helped with the credit banking question, if not, I'll help you then. Sorry, the alarm is off too early tomorrow!

I understand your fear of TESC changing curriculum and it is good to be aware of that before you even get started. But what I would do if I were you(assuming you are ready to start schooling) is apply to TESC and send in all your transcripts so you can get an evaluation and see where you stand. Once you apply you have 3 or 6 months to enroll, before you have to reapply and I believe once you apply and are accepted you will be grandfathered into the current degree program. Before that 3-6 month period is up you will have to choose which enrollment plan is best for you and get started on courses.
I don't really think a credit bank is what you need. From your post I gather you are ready to get your degree, so I'd get the ball rolling and apply so you can get an evaluation. Looking over the course breakdown most of the major requirements should be met by your A&P license or technical training, and that just leaves the gen eds. Depending on how much time you have to dedicate to study you should be able to finish the degree in 15 months(1 year enrollment and 3 month application window)

Yeah, credit banking won't help you. There have been cases where TESC hasn't changed the requirements for those who have applied (you have 6 months to enroll after applying), but it's most safe to be enrolled. Your enrollment fee is good for 12 months, and you can extend it for another 2 or 3 months. A couple of members here have decided to enroll under the Per Credit Tuition Plan because they can't currently afford the enrollment fee. Under that plan, you are enrolled once you sign up for your first course or TECEP (only $108 and can be taken online if you have a strong internet connection). TESC told them they could switch to the Enrolled Options Plan at anytime. Some people don't want to deal with the residency requirements under the Per Credit Tuition Plan.

Thanks for the info. I'm not worried about the residency requirement as I will be using my military TA and GI Bill. I'm just trying to figure out what to do because of the curriculum changes TESC has made in the last two years for this degree plan. I will need to do some more research on the enrollment. I remember reading a post you had started about the difference in pricing also based on how a person enrolls. I need to make sure I choose the correct one. I feel that just because I have military TA, and most people will just go through it like water, I want to be able to spend it wisely. I do plan on pursuing a Masters once I am done with my undergrad. Any and all info will is greatly appreciated.

If I recall correctly, if you're getting reduced rates for being military, then you already have a residency requirement. I haven't looked into how all of that works with the three tuition plans, but you can always opt out of the military rates.
