Hello Everyone,
I am new to this forum and would love some guidance from anyone who can assist with my quest. I'm returning back to college (yes at a late age) with only 12 credits from an ACE college. I was recently introduced to Sophia from which I have earned 9 credits so far.
My question is how can I go by earning my BS in Accounting quicker and which university should I select? I work fulltime but I am eager to put in as many hours as I can to accomplish my goal!
Can anyone guide me?
Thank you

Do you have accounting work experience already, or are you looking to switch careers?

Hello Allvia,
Yes, I am currently working for 24 years for the same company as the Accounts Receivable Manager.
Any suggestions?

Essays, but probably the quickest if you can dedicate the time, since you have the knowledge.

I would agree with Flelm, especially since you have experience in the field already. The cost is low, it's self-paced and a state university.
- here is the wiki page for UMPI - https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Un...esque_Isle
WGU could work as well - although, I'd probably recommend them more for the master degree you'll get once you're done with your bachelor

I earned my BA in Accounting at UMPI and would definitely recommend it. I learned a lot but was also able to move through the program a good bit quicker than the other schools I attended in pursuit of my degree.
I am sure you will do this, but also look at the BA in Business Administration with concentration in accounting and the BLS with accounting minor. You can add a second (and even third) minor to the BLS, if you are so inclined.
The BA in Accounting would give you move depth in accounting, the BABA more general business coursework and a little less accounting, the BLS less accounting and general business coursework, but more flexibility and likely the ability to complete more quickly.
Master of Accountancy (taxation concentration), University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, in progress.
Master of Business Administration (financial planning specialization), University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, in progress.
BA, UMPI. Accounting major; Business Administration major/Management & Leadership concentration. Awarded Dec. 2021.
In-person/B&M: BA (history, archaeology)
In-person/B&M: MA (American history)
Sophia: 15 courses (42hrs)

@Casterly Rock - Hi, Welcome to the board! You may want to provide us more details by following this template and the addendum on the last post here: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...Area-works I agree that the UMPI BABA Accounting or BA Accounting may be what you're looking for. Having said that, with more details, I may be more inclined to say a TESU BSBA Accounting and laddering to a WGU MS Accounting may be your best bets for now depending on your answers...

I agree with the others: If you want an accounting degree quickly, UMPI is probably your best bet. From scratch, most students are able to get a UMPI degree within 6-8 months of starting.
