dual-major degree plans

Hi all,
I have heard of the dual major deals and am wondering is such a thing practical or efficient. I enjoy sociology almost as much as biology and would like to do a dual college major in them. IS this possible and could I earn a BS in both within 4 years.

Probably, but the school will almost certainly require upper level biology and that is hard to find via distance education.
