My daughter goes to a B&M college and we are looking for 2 self paced courses that won't break the bank. Clep/DANTES is not an option as she doesn't do well with that format. Any suggestions appreciated! Thanks! She has used Straighterline and ALEKS and those formats were great and taking a Sophia Art course now.
Thanks for any suggestions!

This B&M school accepts ALEKS and Straighterline, impressive. My best guess if this school accepts ACE credits is to try PennFoster or the Western Civilization Foundation. I also know that DSST exams (I realize that format may not be an option) have iStudy courses with them.
Either way check out the ACE Credit Evaluations of the Western Civilization Foundation here:

or Pennfoster at their website:

I was needing another UL history course...I took BYU's Independent Study of the Italian Renaissance. (It has gone up, in price, since I have taken it.) It was a pretty good course...she will have to write a few short papers and they have a midterm and final. I think you have one year to complete the course, but I did mine over a few months.

Can you give me some info regarding Sophia's Art course? I'm interesting in taking the course myself. I don't have any background on this course and wondering how long it will actually take me to complete it. Do you like straighterline courses or sophia better. Thanks

So far she is not liking the Sophia course, it is a lot more work then she would have wanted and she likes the Straighterline format better. I am thinking that Penn Foster might have been a better option.

what format is that ?
a timed computer exam ?
even self paced courses are going to have timed finals
some might be paper based, others computer based
there's this, but I've never done any of them
