Maybe you took a different M&B exam than the DSST version?
The M&B DSST exam that I took was completely multiple choice, on a computer, and did not require paper and pencil. My exam results were also known immediate after finishing the exam. The good news is, If you took another version of this exam then maybe you don't have to wait 8 months to take the DSST version.
I do agree with you about preparing just right for this exam, it's not one that I would recommend taking cold.

No, DSST has always had a paper/pencil version of their exams, and there are a number of test centers that only deliver this version (no computer-based for them). Candidates who take the paper/pencil version use a scantron to bubble in the multiple-choice answer, the scantron is delivered to DSST and entered into the system in the order it is received before finally getting scanned. Official results are printed twice a week and then put into first-class mail. As you can imagine, it can be a lengthy wait to hear the results of your exam!
I am not sure why there would be such a lengthy wait (8 months) before retaking unless you are one of the DSST candidates who is not near a test center. As a reminder to those who are able to gain appointments easily, the standard retake policy for DSST exams is 3 months (retake for CLEP is 6 months). Do not guess on this retake time! If you can, add an extra week. You do not want to assume you have allowed enough time only to receive the news that your score is invalidated due to testing too soon. Then the retake period starts all over again.

Damn, didn't know they still conducted scantron exams. All the DSST exams that I have taken have been on a computer and with a retake policy after 90 days. I am new to DSST exams though, so that could be the reason.

Sorry if I wasn't clear, I only said 8 months since I'm taking other exams and leaving that one as the last DSST. All DSST exams have the 90 day re-test wait period.

Hi Guys,
I took the Money and Banking today and got a 57. I don't know what grade that is but I think I did well for studying just from IC for 3 days. Not all questions were from IC but 90% were and the ones that were from outside, if you thought about them for a while and eliminated the wrong answers, you could answer them.
Know Regulation Q, Simple Multipliers, effects of inflation, FED monetary policies, Discount Rates, Federal Fund Rates, Reserve Requirements and you should be able to answer most of the questions.
