Has anyone taken Software Engineering or Systems Analysis & Design I from TESU?

I am currently registering to take some summer courses from TESU that I will be transferring back to my main college. In order to fulfill the requirements for my degree, I must choose between Software Engineering and Systems Analysis and Design I.

I did a search on these forums for reviews of both classes, and I only found feedback from one member who said that Systems Analysis and Design I is much, much easier (is has no tests, and SE has 2 closed-book tests and a really tough textbook). However, I feel that Software Engineering is closer to my future career focus. Also, I had read that the August Systems Analysis mentor (O'Brien) grades papers based on whether or not you have systems analysis experience to write about (and I do not have any).

Does anyone have any experience with either of these classes or this mentor that they can share? Any information would be much appreciated!

I've taken System Analysis and Design at TESU since it was a requirement for my major. The course went better than I expected. I did have a few years experience on a information system deployment project so that definitely helped with the writing assignments.

As for software engineering, to complete my degree I needed one additional upper level computer class. I was looking at software engineering and read a sample of the textbook. A lot of the material seemed to build on what was in Systems Analysis. I ended up going with a different class though because I absolutely hate TESU's exams since they ask such obscure questions. For the TECEPs it wasn't a big deal since they are pass/fail but for graded courses, my lowest grade in the class would normally be the exam. As I want to continue on to an graduate program in IT, I want to keep my grades as high as I can. Honestly, I would rather write a ten page paper than have to take one of their exams.
