Y'all this is really good info - I start studying for my Soc exam next. Hopefully, I can take DSST Anthropology Monday evening (I'm scheduled for Wed, but I want to bump it up) and then focus on Soc for my CLEP next Tuesday. (Both only using InstaCert.) The info here helps me to feel more confident about my plan. Thanks everyone!

It's really not a bad test. It was my first CLEP test (I chose it because it had the smallest number of questions). Without knowing a thing about the subject in any way shape or form, I scored a 57 with just a few hours of study (about 25 hours in total).
Good luck!

Took Soc. CLEP yesterday after work - passed in about 45 minutes! Only used Instacert to study. It was nice only having to go through about 150 items instead of the usual 300 or so!
This one is a great place to start for those who are new to CLEP or testing for credit.

I used the Instacert for the two night before the test and only the instacert. I recieved a 65 in the CLEP... not the best but it puts the check in the box for that elective.

I passed both exams, Psychology 69, and Sociology 67... I studied about a week and a half for the Psych exam, and 1 week for Sociology, both with only InstantCert, which had EXACTLY what you needed to more than pass both exams. As for level of difficulty, I thought these were fairly simple, basic High School and Freshman College material. Hope this helped. Bye.
