Ok, I just have to say happy mother's day to all the wonderful mothers on this board. We work hard to raise our kids to be productive, responsible citizens, although that will ultimately mean they will leave our home and fly on their own. As a mother getting close to that point for the first time, I have mixed emotions. As proud as I am of my kids I struggle with the thought of them leaving the nest. I love being a mother and I always define myself as a mother first and foremost. It is the most important, challenging and most difficult job I have ever had, but also the most rewarding! Happy Mother's day to all my fellow mothers!

Happy Mothers Day!
Marianne....stop trying to make me cry! I have the first one yearning to really stretch her wings as well...a lot less fun from the parents perspective! Still makes me (and her beautiful Mother) very proud though.

I had a wonderful mother's weekend.
Friday day we got the letter that said son1 was accepted and placed into a machinist program. We were really worried he would be waitlisted and not make it. I know it wasn't a Harvard letter of acceptance, but we are very happy bc he knows this is what he wants to do. He says he loves the sound of Bachelors of Applied Science in Mechanics from X University.
Son2 is making progress towards his pilot degree. Happy happy man. He flew a Cessna last week and hasn't come back down out of the clouds since.
We *might* be adopting a sibling group of 3 children under age 6, 2 boys and their baby sister. We are cautiously optimistic about the state blessing us with them after my lengthy convo with their case worker Friday.
Friday night we went to a carnival and for the first time in 11 years I wasn't pregnant - so rode rides all night long with my kids. We had a blast. I am sooooo sore now. LOL
Saturday we had some horrid head cold hit is all like a hammer. So we dosed on cold meds and then cuddled about in the living room napping and watching Pheinus and Ferb marathon via Netflix steaming.
Sunday the kids cleaned house while I took a daughter birthday shopping.
This has been one of my best mother weekends. I'm a happy woman. <3
