HSE questions
#1
I got my HSE from https://www.excelhighschool.com and it looks like they're regional accredited...

Would TESU or WGU accept this HSE instead of actual diploma? If so, are there any additional/mandatory testing?

Lastly, would getting all my general education credits out of the way (sophia, straighterline) increase my chances of getting accepted or eliminate a need for HiSet exam or some other entrance exam?

There's no testing. No entrance exam. I didn't have to submit a diploma. Just the date I graduated from high school. I didn't have to send transcripts though because I already have a degree. Have you contacted TESU or WGU and asked what they need from you? That's the first thing I would do. Explain where you completed high school and ask what they specifically need for admissions.

Many schools will waive high school transcripts if you have an associate degree. So that maybe something you want to look into. There's the associate degree from Piermont that's easy to get with ACE credits. Lots of info about in on here.

Oh yeah, I've talked about ExcelHighSchool and their other corporate entities on this board and the sister board. Here's a recent post about their ACE offerings: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...-Providers

Anyways, they are RA for the high school level and they have ACE credits. Did you take some of their ACE course credits for double/dual enrollment? You could have completed your high school and up to 30 credits worth of college credits with their dual enrollment... the courses count towards high school and college, thus shortening your time for both.

My recommendation is going with the Big 3 and/or the Competency Based degree programs such as the ones offered by WGU/UMPI/UMass Global, etc, and get as many ACE credits as possible through Sophia.org (lower level), and Study.com (upper level). That's the current combo I recommend unless you go to schools that accept NCCRS, there are other options such as CLEP/MS as well if you're really close to a test center.

High schools aren't "regionally accredited" like colleges are.

An HSE should be considered equivalent to a HS diploma. For most of the schools we discuss on here, that's all you need to get enrolled. Some schools may request testing (CC's are notorious for this), but none of the Big 3, WGU, etc. care about that.

I didn't get any RA credits from ExcelHS. It's not a real HS diploma so I am a little bit unsure if any colleges will accept this equivalency diploma. I did go online and searched but couldn't find any info.
I also completed 30 ACE credits through Sophia.org and now I have all my the generals. I may want to look into Pierpont if it's an easier way to get accepted.
Do you have any links for the Pierpont associates degree you can share?

That's great news and very reassuring to me! Thank you

The private & public school landscape and accreditation standards for them are different at the high school level than the post secondary level.  You don't need to worry about High School or if you have one of those equivalents such as a GED, it won't really matter for entry.  I would keep trucking away at more Sophia.org courses and get as many as you can transfer into the program of your choice.  While working on the credits, decide on a degree/school and look at their requirements...

Here is the Pierpont link, get the ASU $25 and FREE 1 credit courses within the link, you want to get as many "graded and RA" credits as possible for future use, these both can become electives at Pierpont and beyond at your Bachelors level.  https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Pierpont_C%26TC  Here's the link for Sophia.org transfer credits, take the ones that transfer to multiple schools you're interested in.  https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/So...lency_List

Are you saying some of the HS degree courses you received from Excel HS are part of their 'College in High School' program? https://www.excelhighschool.com/ace-cred...or-college (which are ACE credits)

as far as testing for admissions with TESU, there are some extra rules about taking Accuplacer if you are under age 20 and not military and don't have 24 college credits. But if you're 20 or older then you don't need that.
TESU: BALS June 2021 (comm college, clep, sdc sophia coopersmith, SOS110, and capstone)
