When obtaining credits for employment, they usually don't want to see (for instance) a TESU transcript AND a UMPI transcript AND an ACE (Credly) transcript AND a UExcel transcript. They just want everything listed neatly on a single transcript.
Professional credit banking usually starts at a few hundred dollars a year. Pretending you're seeking another degree (or even a certificate) can be a way to credit bank without paying the ridiculous fees for doing so.
I don't think the state boards will care about the number of transcripts, but they WILL care that ACE is not a college and won't accept the ACE transcript.
The ACE credits won't appear on a college transcript unless sent to a college that accepts them. If you're not an enrolled student, TESU (and others) won't put them on a transcript for you. You can pay a "credit banking" fee to get TESU (and Excelsior, I think) to do it for you, but it's easier and cheaper to either do it before you graduate, or find a way to stay an enrolled student.
