Alright guys, I need your help! First of all, thanks to everyone for their detailed summaries and recommendations. That said, I am failing miserably. I took this CLEP 3 months ago and failed with a 46. I am taking it again next Saturday (11/14/15). I bought the REA "CLEP Humanities" book, CLEP study guide, excel sheet and word doc from this site, and Study.com. I went through all the lessons and watched the videos on Study.com, read the book, and used the crap out of Wikipedia. I went through the flashcards on Instacert (all 500+), and just took my 2nd REA practice exam and failed again with a 48.
I have no prior knowledge of this, am a working professional, and only need these last units to graduate with a BS in Business Management. I can't possibly memorize all this info. I was hoping it would click when seeing it again but there is so much to retain in just a couple months. From what I had on my last test, and the REA exam, they were very similar. The issue is the multiple questions on individual works, from plays, poems, and stories. They go deep into these and one can't possibly cover all the material; meaning reading all of these poems, novels, and playwrights, to retain enough to pass.
This is my experience but I am completely overwhelmed and don't know where to go from here. Many of you have had success stories, even if passing with a 54. You have done all that I am doing but I just don't see how someone can retain all this info. I have 1 more week to fully immerse at night, but don't know what to do next. Any advise or comfort would be greatly appreciated!!
MOVED FROM SPECIFIC EXAM FEEDBACK SECTION.

I agree with SuzanneD, if you can't get the credits one way, try another way, or another course. I'm assuming that a BS in Business Management does not require Humanities specifically, so why torture yourself with this course?? Figure out an easier way. I personally do ok with tests, but found that I enjoyed and did better at, actual courses. It's just more of a fit for me at this point in my (middle aged) life. Don't fight it, find what works and go with that instead!

Thanks for the quick feedback! Unfortunately Straighterline doesn't have a humanities class. I need 4 units, 3 of which need to come from the Visual and Performing arts category. The Humanities CLEP gives 6 units so covers everything I need to get my degree. I agree with you though, I don't think there is much more I can do other than continue to cram questions until next Saturday. If I don't pass, I will just need to go another route and take 2 classes. I can't believe how broad this test is. I think I can do art history in Straighterline and then take the Art DSST, that should cover me as a backup.

I loved Art History at my CC, it inspired me to homeschool my kids because of the way she taught. One of the best college courses I've ever taken (and I was an accounting major at the time). If you do need to take Art History AND the Art DSST, make sure they aren't considered the same course by your college!
Good luck with Humanities!

Don't waste time by trying to save time. The only sure way to complete your degree is to knock out credits quickly and efficiently.
Don't let easiness bite you in the rear. Know your endgame (where you want to be) and plan backward from there. Your education is a means to an end.
Be honest professionally, socially and academically. There are people (especially little ones) who look up to you and they're going by your example.

Picking on people weaker than you only proves that you are a weak person.

Aren't they already $49 per 3 credit course? Is this for 6 credits free and you only pay the $99 membership fee?
