I think they retain "big three status" because one can still transfer in 114 credits. At least 24 of them must be from " accredited higher education institutions". 6 will be from SOS110 and capstone. That leaves the other 90 from ace/nccrs kind of things.

Yeah, not cool. Fortunately, this isn't going to affect me, but it's going to complicate getting 90 required credits for those after the lion's share of us.
I guess it will be a priority to exhaust Pell Grants at the cheapest community colleges going forward. With a two-year associate's transfer degree from community college, much of the problem will be resolved.
It will also lead more people to TESU exams, UExcel exams, CSU Global, etc.
I WILL say -- shame on TESU. They should be doing everything they can to help people finish their degrees. CLEP really shouldn't be included in all of this.

TLDR
Tesu is ending is near unlimited 3rd party transfers in March 2021
This is really sad news, for anybody not able to make it byMarch, they will have to change their entire degree plans... Or cough up the cash which was the whole reason of going this route in the first place. Might as well just go to a 'regular' school
I do wonder if TESU's accreditation was under threat.

If TESU is your plan - apply (for the program you want), send transcripts, sign up for a TECEP (so you are enrolled!!) - and then get it done - you have 2 1/2 months to get them your Alt Credits (NCCRS/ACE). I strongly suggest you focus on the UL first where you can. LL credits are always available at a reasonable cost through the CCs.

It'll still be possible to get a degree (relatively) inexpensively through TESU. It'll simply go up to the pre-Sophia-bonanza price.

Yeah I don't know all the reasons behind this, but shame on them for giving such a short notice because so many of their students will be royally screwed

We all either got the email or saw one of the threads about TESU changing their policy on only excepting 90 credits total from ACE and NCCRS sources. We can still get our degrees we just have to change the way we do things. 90 credits is still a lot of credits and TESU is still taking courses from RA sources.

COSC has the same general policy (limit on non college transfer to 90) but accepts fewer ace providers and not sure if they accept any nccrs.

I am wondering if this is part of their accreditation. COSC requires a number of RA credit as well so it makes me wonder if this is an accreditation issue. For those in a panic, give UMPI a look. It's pretty inexpensive RA credit especially if you can go through classes quickly and complete a lot of courses during a term. It's competency based so you move at your own pace. I have completed the course material for several classes in 3 days. Another day to write the paper.

Looks like TEL Learning is about to become all this board's new best friend.

When I'm not feeling quite as snarky, I'll update the degree plans to reflect things like TEL Learning and TECEPs for those who are starting from scratch. It's still possible, it just won't be as cheap as it has been for the past 6 months.
