FEMA credits

Yes, TESC will take the FEMA transcript directly from FEMA. No cost to you at all.
To figure out how many FEMA credits you can use, go into your unofficial evaluation and see how many free electives you have left to fill. FEMA will only fill free elective slots (BA or BS) but it depends on your own situation- some people come in with several courses already in free electives and need fewer than other people.

I know this sounds dumb, but could you point me to a link where they are talking about unofficial evals? Unless you means the TESC course overview where you can basically fill things in yourself by guessing before submitting an application? I have tried to do that, but am failing miserably. I have lots of free electives, but may be able to bump some of them up towards a more important slot.

Oh, and I passed my "free" FEMA course! I am thrilled even though I did one that didn't give credits. It was good practice, and I learned a few helpful things as well Wink

First- congrats on passing your first FEMA class!
Second, your question is not dumb at all. An unofficial evaluation is what you get from TESC when you apply. You must fill out the application, send in the payment, and your transcripts. It's a pain, but once you do that, they will give you an "Unofficial Evaluation" that is good for 6 months. You'll get a paper copy in the mail, and be able to access an online account that has it there too. At that stage, you are not enrolled, but you have completed the first step. You also don't have to enroll, but I think you'll find the unofficial evaluation useful.

In the meantime, you could post some of your classes here and those of us who are students/grads can help you place them into the correct slots. Some are cut and dry (US History 101 is a social science credit) others not so much. But, it's a start.

Lastly, once you have applied ($75/unofficial eval completed) you can use the college code for TESC when you take CLEP exams. This will save you a few $ and a copy of your score will go automatically to TESC for free.

Thank you!

So, let me see if I have this right: I can apply to TESC and send them my credits to evaluate unofficially, even if I may not enroll there for another year, or more? I can't take tests very quickly with my work schedule (why they don't have them on Saturdays, I have no idea! ), so am thinking it may take 2 years for me to do everything I need to before I enroll at TESC. They will save my CLEP scores, just based on my application? For how long? Then I reapply when I am ready to enroll? Or do that every 6 months?
