Guess I'll find out if I'm going to be tied to the cornerstone soon.
#1
I applied back in March, but had many credits to gain before jumping on TESU. I did want to beat the April 1 deadline for changes, so I got that. The only question at this point is if I'll get tagged for the new cornerstone. I registered for a TECEP for the June term, which won't make me enrolled until then, so cross your fingers hard for me that I can somehow skip this cornerstone requirement. I'm so close to completion that this cornerstone will mess with my timeline.

If it turns out they want you to enroll, I wonder how open they would be to letting you appeal on the basis of your past college experience/number of credits, proving you are college-competent?

It'd be worth a shot at least

I will try that if I need to. The thought of completing 120 hours and then being required to take a cornerstone on surviving college would be beyond silly.

I'd love to see your update on this, as there are several people in the same boat as well. The main thing or reason you may want to take the Cornerstone is because of the GPA requirements they implemented. From looking at what you've completed, I don't see anything completed as a course at TESU to match that requirement. Only time will tell, as the TECEPS don't have a grade to them, it's just credit/no credit (pass/fail).

my current evaluation shows I've met the GPA, I assume that's coming from my community college courses. yes, time will tell how this plays out.

I pulled this from the "What will prevent me from graduating....." section

Your overall TESU GPA, the GPA in English Composition and/or the GPA in your area of study/option does not meet the minimum requirement.
Undergraduate students must have an overall TESU GPA, an English Composition GPA and an area of study/option GPA of 2.0 or higher.

from this: Thomas Edison State University: Graduation Information

If I'm reading this correctly, my Eng comp should fulfill the GPA requirement (the first sentence) The and/or part leads me to this conclusion. I don't fully get the second sentence and how it relates to the first sentence. My HRM course from CC should fulfill my GPA in the area of study. This is what my eval looks like (the HRM course hasn't hit yet, so I'll know soon).

I'm not sure where this GPA thing came from. I didn't take any classes with them and I know there are a few others this year that didn't either. Mine says overall GPA met and under the TESU GPA it is blank. I would verify with the college whether you have to take a course for a TESU GPA in order to graduate or not.

I don't know what things looked like previously, but I caught some earlier threads commenting on GPA requirements. So, does your AOS state same as mine?

Yes it states that in AOS. What I put previously is at the top of the evaluation.
