I emailed the Fort Hays graduate school today regarding their 60 credits of graded coursework requirement for admissions to a Master's program. They emailed back telling me that the 30 credits I have will be sufficient for admissions. It looks like I am going to be able to apply for the Master's of Professional Studies with a concentration in Web Development. Now, I just need to knock out two classes this semester to wrap up my Bachelor's at Excelsior.

Ah very nice! Let us know how the actual coursework is. That's going to be an interesting one.

That's great news! I was looking pretty hard at the MLS in Literary Arts. I assume the issue you were concerned about was due to a large amount of CBE credits and not because of GPA, correct?
I'm very interested in how the courses play out over there. Please do keep us posted.

In their admissions application it says Fort Hays requires 60 graded credits. Including my graded DSST exams, I have only 30. I assumed I would need to take several more graded courses before they would accept my application. Thankfully, I was wrong.
With so few graded credits, it has been easy to keep my GPA up. I currently have a 4.0 and hope to keep it that way with my last two classes.

That's weird. In the MLS Literary Arts section it says: "A minimum GPA of 2.75 on the last 60 hours is required for admission." I guess I just assumed that did not necessarily mean that the last 60 hours had to be graded. Then again I did not take a look at the application. They may have been more specific there.
It's really heartening to see that they are willing to be that flexible with you. Gives me hope.

I was thinking about applying to them as well, but I will only have 1 graded course (the TESC capstone). I wonder if they'll even accept me.

It never hurts to call or e-mail to ask.

I was preparing a list of additional courses to take when I decided to ask. I am sure glad I did. It will save me about $5000 in tuition.
