I'm in my last semester at TESC, planning to complete my 120th credit on January 23rd.
To those who have been through and understand the complexity of TESC and can sort through the misinformation they routinely offer, can someone tell me if I should apply for graduation NOW before Jan. 1st to make the March 1st graduation, or if I must wait until getting final grades this, my last semester (November-January) before applying later than month or early Feb for the June graduation? I have received two different answers from three different advisers or staff at TESC, two saying "apply" and one saying "wait"...
Merci.

Hi jackzack87,
Those telling you to apply are correct. I have gone through this twice this year and it is very easy. You can submit your form on or before January 1 noting the final course(s) and or any outstanding exams not yet posted in section three. Once your form is processed by bursars office and sent to the registrar they will send you an email confirmation (note the grad specialists name and contact info).
When you are about to take your final let your mentor know this is your last course and you would appreciate it greatly if they would post your final grade to the college as soon as possible. Iâve found they are more than happy to oblige. If they should send you an email letting you know theyâve posted the final grade awesome, if not wait until you see it post on your evaluation (usually by the 4th of the following month) contact the grad specialist and she will take it from there.
Good luck!

Thank you both for asking and answering this question. I was wondering the same thing. I am in my final class at TESC. I still need to take one DSST and a TECEP. The TECEP I can't take until January and was wondering if that would keep me from a March graduation, but it doesn't sound like that will be a problem afterall.

Hi PTO,
Ok, this scenario is different. Jack is actually in a Nov semester ending Jan 22 therefore he is only awaiting a final grade. It has been my experience that the month you are scheduled to take the tecep is the actual semester month. Meaning your are enrolled in the Jan semester (which is after the Jan 1 deadline date). Teceps take anywhere from 2-5wks to grade. Once your tecep grade posts they could certify you for graduation, but your actual grad date would probably fall in June. I would call and ask someone and even then its a toss up. Bright side, you are still finished once that Tecep grade posts!

You may get lucky. I was told that the cutoff was Sept for Dec graduation. I finished my last DSST at the end of Sept. It took almost 3 weeks for TESC to receive the results. On top of that, they did not process the results until Halloween.
On Dec 10 I received a letter saying that I could graduate in December. SO it depends. Just apply now like everyone else says and then get it over with and wait.
19 DSST attempted - 54 credits awarded (1 unsuccessful)
11 CLEP attempted - 24 credits awarded (5 unsuccessful)

So were your requirements due by Sep 1st?...because I want to graduate in Mar...the deadline is Jan 1st...I am 8 credits away and wanted to know if I apply for graduation now, will I be able to still take 1 or 2 DANTES exams in Jan?...or do I have to take all of them now?

I wanted to dust off this old thread because it was so helpful to me and the advice is still valid. I followed the advice in post #2. I feel that it helped me graduate "early". My capstone started in the Sep 2015 term and ended November 22nd. I applied for December graduation by the October 1 deadline. The next graduation was in March 2016 and was the graduation date TESC would have directed me into based on published policies and would have cost me additional fees BTW. I was just certified for December graduation.
