Graduate school...
#1
ok, I have a couple of questions I couldn't find answers too.

I would like to obtain a psychology degree from one of the big three. Then I plan on going to graduate school. Most of my credits will be by examination. Will this have a large affect on getting accepted to graduate schools?

Also, for those of you that have degree's from one of the big three. When applying for a job, do employers generally look down at this type of degree?

I'd really appreciate any advice! Thanks in advance!

.....

There are lots of ways to look at this issue. Eventually it comes down to an individual decision of how to proceed, especially after you have looked at the admissions requirements of the graduate schools that most interest you.

Here is a recent thread that discusses many of the scenarios:

In general, pursuing a PSI degree from any of the big 3, or the BIG 1 EC, is a great idea. How far it will be accepted after that is up to that institution.

That being said, I would also ask as to how far in school you are planning to go and to what end in a career path?

To answer you acceptance question a bit more directly, my feeling is that you shouldn't have any issues except for establishing a hearty GPA inasmuch as many exams (CLEP in particular) no longer warrant a letter grade by by schools and you end up with a dreaded "P" on your transcript instead of an "A" that would boost you overall GPA.

Good Luck!

I think that the best thing to do if you are worried about acceptance either for a job or graduate school is to contact some of your prospects and ask them outright. That way you will put your mind at ease and feel secure in your choice. Good luck!
