Graduate Level Course Work Senior Year

What is your opinion about taking 12 graduate credits to fulfill your BA and knock out 12 of the 30 grad school credits? I have been curious of the rigor of the work and saw that Marshall University offers this option at in state tuition rates.

That's awesome if it happened, the only thing I wouldn't want to do is "pay" that much for those credits.
I'm not sure, but are they competency based degrees/programs offering them at per semester rates?
Tuition: Marshall University Tuition & Fees - Marshall University , seems reasonable in price, but still - i'm cheap.
For others who are more financially sound, they are probably very affordable already. I recommend it!

It's not competency based, it is normal read and write course work.

I would verify with the graduate school that you can still use the credits if they've already been used toward a bachelors.

I'll check with them, the process according to the catalog requires approval to double dip based on GPA.

But they require you get your BA with them - so its not as easy as testing out of a degree program at one of the Big 3 and then transferring into the master's program. It will cost more $$$ on the front end. But if the end result is to be halfway through the master's program you may be saving a lot of money long-term if you get half of it at the undergrad tuition price.

I'm not opposed to transferring and finishing my RBA there. I just finished my taxes and when I officially file we operated at 7k loss last year. I should get full PELL to use. If I do this, should I take 2 grad courses and one undergrad? I'm concerned about the work load.

I could have THEN used my 1st bachelors as the bachelor of record for my masters at Harvard. In the end I did it differently, but it can work as long as you use the right kinds of loopholes. Do you think I should do two graduate courses and one undergraduate? Is that doable?

I talked to APU and I'm not sure if it works this way at other schools....but I asked about taking individual grad courses from them (non-matriculated) until I hit 15 credits, and then matriculate and finish the rest of them, they said it will work that way if I take the correct courses and can only transfer 15 credits.


I was wanting to take grad courses, as many as possible that will apply towards a masters, then sign up (for much less time) and finish the degree. It looks like walden allows 18 credits to transfer, so you might can do half of the grad degree before becoming a matriculated student. That's my distant future plans, so that I'm not so rushed to complete the masters. I'm not sure if WGU allows this, or others. But it seems like a great way to go, and not be so pressured during your grad enrollment.
