Hi there!
I've been lurking for a weeks on this forum now, gathering information, tips and tricks! I've gained a lot of info that I can't wait to take on my journey.
Let me introduce myself, I'm Linda, 26, currently employed as an administrative assistant (2,5 years now) and I'm going for a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Computer Information Systems from Thomas Edison State University.
I never got the opportunity before to get a BBA, but if I want to advance my career, I need this degree. However, I can never afford a college degree at a traditional brick-and-mortar university. That's why I was SOOO excited to discover there were other possibilities. I found Saylor, Straighterline and eventually I came here.
So I want to get as many college credits outside of TESU, so I can transfer it in the future. My main goal is for the degree to be as cheap as possible. So for now, I'll be beginning with the Saylor college credit giving courses.
I'll be keeping you posted about my journey! If you have any tips, tricks, things that need attention, don't hesitate to let me know!
See you in another post!
Linda

Welcome a board, start with end in mind and pick-n-choose course that help you to get to your finish line. This forum has tons of resources and advise on where to start. What is your current credits level or are you starting from scratch? if you share more details then fine people here may be able to help you guide your journey and save you from wasting time. I preferred CLEP and DSST routes while at the same time getting all available free credits such as Kaplan PLA, TEEX, Ethics etc. Make your self a calendar so you know what's next. Good Luck to you!

Welcome, Linda. I am currently in the same field and in the last months of getting my degree from TESU. I have taken a few twists and turns here and there but managed to do this debt-free and I learned a lot in the process. You definitely came to the right place and it seems like you're committed to doing your homework to get this degree. Take a look at my signature line when you get a moment. I'm happy to answer questions about my experiences with any of my credit sources either in the forum or via PM. The support on this forum is immeasurable. Glad to have you aboard!

Welcome! I'd suggest not forgetting possible Pell grants and other funds (you may already have looked at this). Often the Pell grant amount makes it worth while to enroll "full time" at one of the cheap community colleges (clovis, nmjc or the like). If you are able to get the full amount you could essentially get these classes paid for and the leftover money can be used to pay for clep/sl/etc.
Currently studying for: Still deciding.
Done!

2018 - Harvard Extension School - Graduate Certificate Cyber Security
2016 - WGU - MBA Mgmt & Strategy
2015 - Thomas Edison State College - BSBA Marketing & CIS
