Going back to school...

Great template update, however, it's missing the more important addendum! The addendum has requests of info regarding your budget, commitment, study habits, etc. It paints a bigger overview and picture of your scenario, with more info, we can help you much better as we can get a overall idea of your situation...

Budget is I would like to do it as cheap as possible lol... Commitment is that I HAVE to do it. I spend time on almost every day doing some form of school work, and am currently spending probably 20+ hours a week on it. I am tired of working overnight 60 hours a week, but I am not willing to walk away from the job I have without a semi-equal job to go to. I can do anything and have never had an interview where I didn't get the job, but without a degree I cant get to the interview with the jobs I want. So after a ton of research and a lot of work we find ourselves here, trying to maximize every opportunity and set it up to allow me to finish as quick as possible.

Do you specifically need an IT degree? I ask because you don't have any certs. The BS IT degree isn't going to be an easy/fast one without certs. Some people have been able to get it in 6 months anyway, but many students find themselves needing at least 12-18 months.

Faster/cheaper/easier might be either a BABA degree from UMPI or a BACS degree from TESU.

No, I honestly dont care what its in. In complete honesty its a piece of paper and a means to an end. I was leaning towards IT just because I may move somewhere that jobs are not readily available so remote work was one option. I have worked for UPS for 20 years and helped run a seasonal side business that does $500k in sales in just over a month for 11 of those years using some vacation time.

I would suggest either the BABA PM&IS from UMPI or the BACS from TESU. Either one can offer the possibility of remote work. They're also more "guaranteed" to be able to complete in 6 months compared to the IT degree with no certs.

You could also do the BS(BA) in CIS from TESU. This would be in addition to or instead of the BACS. It's a business degree, but the diploma now styles it as a pure BS degree. So you might be able to convince employers that it is essentially equivalent to an IT degree.

So Im looking at TESU's class list is there a list some where as to what sophia/study classes would count for what? Thats the one thing I really like about WGU is they gave you a list and you could build a plan off that list.

OK TESU looks WAAAAAAY better for the BABA general business degree!!!! Question, the FIL 1100 I dont see a class that fills that. Am I missing it? But this is an amazing resource thank you to all who have put in this effort.

TESU is very different than WGU when it comes to acceptance. What they list on their own site is only the classes that they, themselves, offer. In order to figure out what goes where, check out the section the class is in. FIL-1000 is in Part C. Knowledge of Human Cultures. If you check out the roadmap wiki page and scroll down to part C., you'll see that what TESU is actually expecting there is 1 class (3 credits) in Social Sciences, 1 class (3 credits) in History, 1 class (3 credits) in Humanities, and 2 classes (6 credits) in your choice of Social Sciences/History/Humanities. As long as you meet those requirements, TESU doesn't care if you take FIL-1000 from them or Visual Communications or something from elsewhere.

I strongly recommend setting up a spreadsheet of your own to figure out where your existing classes can be plugged in and what more needs to be done.

@Smgill2282, It really depends on the student and what they have in the addendum/template, I like TESU and UMPI as well, UMPI will be cheaper, easier, faster overall than TESU. TESU capstone course alone would be equivalent to all 30 residency requirements at UMPI. Having said that, if you're not going for a masters, you may be better off at TESU as they've got the additional ACBSP accreditation. If you're going for a masters, then it won't really matter as that would trump whatever you have for undergrad. Either institution would work as they're both public/state universities, they'll be the first choice over non profit/private institutions that are exclusively online such as WGU.
