Getting nervous about World Religions
#1
This is the first DANTES I've done, and I'm nervous about not having a practice exam. I've gone over IC about 4 times per section and usually miss an average of about 3 questions. However, once I'm away from the screen I get buddhism, hinduism and confucianism greatly mixed up.

::bites nails nervously::

I'm a Christian, so the Christianity part is a breeze. I'm quite familiar with Judaism also, since I have Jewish friends and Christianity overlaps some with Judaism. And I've studied Islam off and on several different times, so I'm relatively comfortable with that.

But the eastern religions really have me anxious. I've gone through about half of the "Compact Guide To World Religions" and have also gone through some notes someone else sent me. I'm making my own abbreviated set of notes. But I'm still nervous.

My test is on Tuesday and I think I'll *probably* do okay, but if anyone wants to give me an e-pat on the head Smile and reassure me a little, or give me some additional tips on the test, I wouldn't mind. Smile

Intro to World Religions was the first (and as of now the only test I have taken.) I am due to take the Organizational Behavoir Exam on Weds.

The World Religion exam was a lot easier thanI thought it would be. You sound as if you are in really good shape going into this exam, I was over prepared. InstaCert was a great help. I also found Religion fo Dummies helpful. I had no real sense how I did the day of the exam, there were 10 questions I was not sure of. I did pass the exam, the scoring in a bit strange, I am not sure exactly how you get a letter grade from the number scores on the test. I had my results in about 3 weeks.

Good luck and keep us posted on how you do.-----------Joyce

Each exam has an ACE recommended minimum passing score. Each school can choose whether to use this baseline or not, and will have its own letter grading policy. You should contact your school for info.

Thanks everyone.....the free quizzes site looks terrific! I appreciate the help from y'all.

I'm getting my degree through Thomas Edison and it's my understanding that they don't assign a letter grade?

I just took this test a couple weeks ago. I, too, got sometimes confused on the Hinduism and Buddhism thing. But it's ok. I found the questions on the test did not ask differences or whether one thing was one or the other. So they did not try to make it confusing for you. Thankfully. Oh but know the apostle's creed, what a canon is, a guru, the nicene creed, Jen and Li buddhism, the silk road, that Muslim men completely control and own their women, and that Muhammed was born in the 4th century AD (CE).Rolleyes Those are the things I got wrong I think (or hadn't heard of). I did really well on this test without a TON of prepare time. So I think you'll do ok. Smile

And, you're right, TESC does not assign a letter grade. EC does.

Relax, review, and have a cookie. Wink
Good Luck!
