Would this mean Straighterline will be able to offer more courses?
I bet that Straighterline is lined up to off more courses and being ACE accepted is part of the plan. Good for them because it is a very good option for many. Does anyone know are these pass/fail or will they have letter grades when transcribed through ACE? Thanks

I saw that they added schools since I last was on their site Months ago. So, I would assume that maybe they just have ACE approval but still will continue to use those colleges. But thats my 2cents and I could be wrong. If anything they might continue to find more schools to accept their stuff and then move up the venue on courses they offer.

I did try to get some answers from Straighterline but they are not able to discuss this at this time.
The suggestion was to "Please check back once announcements are made on the website (hopefully, within the month)".
So I guess we will just have to wait and see when they update their website.

Thanks for the info. Hopefully the information will come sooner rather then later. I am still wondering about the Pass/Fail thing with ACE.

according to the info at this link
Credit For Non-Collegiate Instruction - Office of the Registrar - Humboldt State University, this might still be a possibility for you if they are on an ACE transcript. Check with the appropriate office in your school.
"For Civilians
The National Guide to Educational Credit for Training Programs recommends the number of units allowed. Appropriate documentation of instruction/course work must be submitted to the HSU Registrar through the Office of the Registrar (SBS 133) before credit can be awarded."

I may be wrong but it seems at Excelsior ACE transcript items such as Aleks, get posted with a P for pass. I am not sure how it works at TESC but I think for it to count toward a GPA at TESC it has to be a course through them, so in that case I do not think being a grade or a P would be that much different.
I do know at Excelsior the Straighterline course on the FHSU transcript came in with a grade. So in that case it would effect one GPA.

Thanks, but the reason I asked this question was not just for a GPA situation at EC or TESC. I know someone who wants to take some of these courses but the school they go to will not take a course transcribed as just a Pass. It has to be a letter grade and it has to be a C+ or above. So that is the main reason I am asking about how ACE will transcribe Straighterline courses. If anyone finds out please let us know. Thanks

So Straighterline has been added to ACE NATIONAL GUIDE, does anyone know when it will show up in the ACE - COURSE SEARCH section?

Interview: Burck Smith, CEO of Straighterline « Higher Education Management Group
Interestingly it talks about $99 per month + $39 per course. I wonder if this $39 per course is a new fee coming?
