And from faculty who've taught the applicants and can speak to their strengths as students. This is important, and this is a substantive thing you can miss out on by leaning on credit-by-exam exclusively or too heavily.

That actually makes a lot of sense.

Just for clarification, are CLEP/DSSTs accepted for the other prerequisites, such as GEs?
I'm trying to help a friend out (also military) if I can, as he's trying to commission as a nurse, but each time I bring up CBEs he immediately stops me with "lab requirement."
I wasn't sure from the reading here so far; it almost sounds like it's school-dependent.

With regard to nursing, this depends on the school. There is a pretty big school in my town that offers everything from ASN to NFP, and they accept CBE's for some of their science content. Remember, that on this site, Straighterline courses tend to get grouped with CBE...
My advice to your friend is to find out if the program he's applying into will accept the straighterline labs with CLEP Biology, ECE Anatomy and Physiology, etc.
Also, all of the Big 3 offer hard sciences with labs in some capacity or another.

Wayland here has a suffix at the end of courses "VC", for virtual campus, instead of the usual suffix for the semesters.
Not sure if this is reflected on the transcript itself, but it's definitely how it shows up on my progress reports.

I don't have anything on my transcripts that would give away that my courses were completed online. The school would have to know my residential history to know that I attended online.
