I am taking several online Accounting courses from LSU. There are several courses that can be counted for credit. These courses include Intermediate Acct I and II, Auditing, Accounting Information Systems, and Governmental and Not for Profit Accounting. For these classes, a student is able to take exams through the Proctor University website for a small fee. LSU also offers several Independent courses, including Cost Analysis & Control, Income Tax Accounting I, Advanced Accounting, Fraud Auditing and Forensic Accounting, and Commercial Transactions for Accountants. For these independent courses, a student is supposed to find a proctor for the exams. It also looks like these independent courses may be completed in 6 weeks. If anyone has any experience with these courses can the exams also be taken through the Proctor University? Also, I am looking to finish my Bachelor's degree in either Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting through TESC, or through a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting through Excelsior College. Does anyone know if either school accepts these independent courses towards their Accounting Degree. Lastly, my plan is to sit for the CPA exam. Does anyone know if the independent courses through LSU are acceptable for when I sit for the CPA exam?
