Free XAMK online courses for college credits?
#11
and I found this UK version Liberal Arts degree program:

http://www.openuniversity.edu/courses/qu...se-details

The Open University offers 'Open Degree' online bachelor's degree program.
You'll be able to transfer any course credit into this degree program!  This is a UK version Liberal Arts I guess.
I'll ask them what's the maximum number of credits I can transfer in and if they would accept XAMK credits.

"If you have already studied at university level, you may be able to count it towards your Open University qualification – which could save you time and money by reducing the number of modules you need to study. At the OU we call this credit transfer.

It’s not just university study that can be considered, you can also transfer study from a wide range of professional or vocational qualifications such as HNCs and HNDs.

You should apply for credit transfer before you register, at least 4 weeks before the registration closing date. We will need to know what you studied, where and when and you will need to provide evidence of your previous study."

The Open University is the most popular online university in UK:

It will be fantastic if they allow us to get their degree with ECTS credits from XAMK!

BA or BSc Open degree without Honours

"
requires a total of 300 credits of these credits, no more than 120 credits can be at Level 1, and at least 60 must be at Level 3.

the maximum amount of credit transfer which you may be able to count is 200 credits.
However, all the remaining 100 credits required from OU modules must be above Level 1 and of those at least 60 must be at Level 3
(or be Level 3  collaborative courses as listed on this website: http://www.open.ac.uk/collaborative-schemes/)
"

Fee for 60 Open University credits is £3,096.

So you can finish this degree for £5k GBP after you transfer in 200 credits from XAMK ?? I think that will work out.

This could be the cheapest liberal arts online degree if they accept all free XAMK credits. It may take under a year to finish.

There's another possible pathway for XAMK diploma.

Teesside University's Business and Enterprise online top-up degree program also requires a diploma to get in:
https://www.tees.ac.uk/Undergraduate_cou...nline).cfm

Their program costs only £4,600 GBP and it takes only 1 year to finish.
I just asked them if I can use a XAMK diploma as my entry qualification.

Teesside University is not very popular but it's still ranked:

I think it depends on the course. Most of these appear to be mostly self-paced, though there are some with set assignment deadlines. The robotics course in particular has a final deadline in June (IIRC) but says that if you want to continue with a follow up course then you need to be done by March.

I'm planning to grab an online UK degree along the way mainly to diversify my investments.
I'll get one US bachelor's and one UK bachelor's. I will update this thread on January 3rd. The UK top-up degree guys will get back to me.

XAMK will issue its transcript in English btw!

So some institutions may not need translation or WES evaluation to accept XAMK transfer credits.

TESU does require evaluation, even for transcripts in English. https://www.tesu.edu/academics/catalog/i...t-policies I don't know about COSC or EC.
