So it looks like the Mid-Atlantic School of Law is back. I did some digging and learned a number of things:

- The original program may have been based out of Seattle, Washington due to its phone number carrying a 206 area code at the time. However, number forwarding has been a thing for a long time, so it's possible that the 206 area code phone number was just a number that forwarded to a phone based in North Carolina.

- The actual owner of the original program is unknown, but the original Director (who may have also been the owner) was Baxter Worth Paschal III, a licensed attorney from North Carolina.

- Contrary to the reports you find in online forums, Baxter Worth Paschal III did not die and is still practicing law in North Carolina.

- Despite the many references to being male that students have made, Baxter is actually a woman. However, it is possible that Mr. Baxter Worth Pascal, Jr. could have been the person reading and responding to student inquiries, and grading essays. He was not an attorney.

- Mr. Baxter Worth Paschal, Jr. is Ms. Baxter Worth Paschal III's father and he did die in 2014. He was a Doctor of Chiropractic in North Carolina who was convicted of a felony after some financial crime and served time in federal prison.

- Because the MASL program closed the same year that Mr. Paschal died, it lends to the suspicion that Mr. Paschal was the one who owned the school or was at least reading and responding to student inquiries, and grading essays.

- One student was able to get licensed in the state of New Jersey using their degree from the old MASL program.

The new site lists no pricing, no faculty, no student handbook, and no course list. Whether or not Ms. Baxter Paschal is affiliated with the new program in any way is unknown.

You're free to make your own choices, but I would not give my contact information to a website of dubious quality and security. We don't know who is running this website or how they plan to use it. The original Mid Atlantic Law wasn't an accredited school, but at least there was an actual person behind it who seemed to actually be interested in Helping people learn. Students knew who they were contacting and who was grading their papers. This just seems to be some random entity that bought the domain name on a domain auction site and slapped up a website that they didn't even proofread first. In other words, I don't believe there is actually a "Mid Atlantic Law" to contact.

NWCU is an actual law school--limited utility, but still real. Stick with them.

I appreciate your concern. I used an old address and a variation of my name. I got an error message every time I attempted to submit my info, so I doubt the website is truly up and running.
