Forestry Course Help
#1
I have been looking for a basic/fundamentals of forestry class. There are a number of schools that offer it, but none of them have an all online format. Do any of these wise folks here know of a completely online forestry option?

Thanks.... David

I looked into this subject matter for my son. This is the only school I found that has some online classes.

Study Online - NAU Forestry

I found more Horticulture classes on line. Does any college or university offer the classes in your state? I could find them locally at a state university.

Good luck with your search.

Thanks for the info... NAU is exactly what I am looking for. It is ashamed that the tuition for a 3sh course is $971.00!

There are a number of schools in Texas that offer forestry courses, but they are both over three hours from my home. The problem with these courses is they have extensive field work (lab) and are not offered online.

Thanks again for the info...

Good Luck,

OSU may be a good option, but I will have to call and speak with folks in admissions to know for sure. I have attended Portland State and Clackamas Community College and both are on the quarter hour system. So is OSU's FOR 111 - Introduction to Forestry a 3sh course, or 3 quarter hours? If it is semester hours, then it is less expensive than NAU. If it is 3 quarter hours, then it won't even meet my 3sh natural science requirement and is a lost cause.

Thanks for the link. I will make some calls and do my research tomorrow.

Are you sure a forestry course will meet the Nat Sci requirement? Even if it does, there are probably easier and less expensive ways to do it. You would need a 5 quarter hour course from OSU to meet the 3 semester hours requirement of your school, and most of their courses aren't 5 sh.
