Hi Everyone,
This forum has so much information, it is so helpful! I am scheduled to take my first CLEP tomorrow in Sociology. I have a couple of questions for all of you that are more experienced .
I have not yet applied to any colleges yet. I am just taking my first CLEP to gauge if this is something I feel I can do. I do have a local community college where I am currently enrolled. Should I have my score sent there? Or, would it be better to not have my score sent at all? This community college does not give credit for this CLEP, and I really don't foresee myself getting a degree there. Not sure what would be my best bet. Any thoughts?
I have studied for this test for about a week and a half. Feeling a little nervous about taking the test tomorrow. I have used the instantcert flashcards, taken petersons practice tests, free clep prep practice tests, and done some online reading. Any last minute words of wisdom?
Thanks everyone! This forum is a great resource.

For a good chunk of the exams available out there, more often than not if you can score well on the practice exams you'll typically overkill the actual CLEP tests themselves (from my experience this was very evident with Microeconomics). If you're feeling confident with the studies you've done so far, and you're coming across the same information/concept consistently, it's probably important.
As far as sending the credits are concerned; regardless of how many credits you've earned through CLEP/DSST I believe's it's a flat $30 to have your overall CLEP/DSST transcript sent (not sure if it's the same situation for everyone, as I'm military and apparently our process is slightly different). I'd recommend taking advantage of your score being sent to an institution for free, but then again it's only $30 and you're not sure yet where you're going, so I'd do the research first.

If you've been studying with instantcert flashcards, then you will be fine! I took the principles of management clep today after studying using JUST instantcert flashcards for 2 days. Yes, 2 days. I memorized most of the flashcards so I knew the info I needed. The test was fairly simple and there were only a few I did not know. I ended up scoring a 68. Also, sociology is a lot of common sense also. Instead of just reading the notes, try to think about why they are the way that they are. It'll make it a lot more easier when it clocks. Sociology is just one of those things! But, good luck and don't be nervous! I was very nervous but I ended up doing great and so will you!

You can't go wrong with Instantcert, unless you really don't study the flashcards. Last year I passed three DSSTs in four weeks, on subjects I really didn't know much about. I remember taking the Soviet Union DSST test, and all I did was thoroughly use the flash cards, go to Wikipedia and study something more in depth, and keep notes. Turned out that was overkill.
You should do fine. Good luck!
