Finished BA in Psychology

I've mentioned this in other topics but I want to thank everyone here who have been vital to me finishing. I'm hopefully starting Wake Forest's Masters in Counseling program in January (pending acceptance). Thanks to all of you.

Congratulations!!!

As a psych major at TESC, I'd like to hear your thoughts on testing out of the psych requirements. Any tests to avoid, any easy tests, etc.

A psych BA is my goal as well and I'd like to second this sentiment.

Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.

I may not be the best help as half of my psych courses were done at a traditional school. However, I did do the ECE for Research Methods which I HIGHLY recommend as the class itself is pretty tedious. It's a tough test but doable.

As to others, I did the ECE for Adulthood and Aging which isn't too bad if you've taken or CLEPed Human Growth and Development.

I did the DSST for Counseling which was fairly straightforward.

I did CLEP Human Growth as well as Ed Psych to fill a credit gap I had. Ed Psych wasn't hard but also not as easy as some make it out to be. A lot of vague questions.

Oh and I also took a DSST for Substance Abuse which can be used as a psych course. It was one of the easier ones. InstantCert by itself will get you through this easily.

For all of these, InstantCert was a major help.

I'd also suggest taking the intro to World Religion DST as it will give you some padding in upper level courses and it's a fun and relatively easy test. Again, instantcert is more than enough, but make certain to know your Eastern religions.

I just took this test a couple days ago and I agree. I thought for sure I had failed it, was shocked to see a 59 at the end.

Thanks for the info, and congrats again! Smile
