A great resource BMW.

I just want to point out that CLEP no longer offers the 6-credit Principles of Accounting exam.

Both DSST and CLEP offer a 3-credit Financial Accounting exam. However, no such exam exists for the Managerial Accounting requirement (Note: These accounting courses are sometimes called Accounting I and Accounting II).

Unfortunately, it is now necessary to complete a course in Managerial Accounting to fulfill this requirement.

I completed the old 6-credit Principles of Accounting exam which covered both the Financial and Managerial requirement. So my knowledge of alternative options is limited. Perhaps someone else can provide some advice about how best to complete the Managerial Accounting requirement.

Hope that helps,

Since I ddin't realize my accounting courses were to old to count I did not take the old accounting clep, I am planning on the clep financial acct and to take managerial acct from Penn Foster (ec approved this). My EC advisor did tell me at this time there wasn't a test to cover managerial accounting. But they did offer a course which I wasn't paying that much for. I am taking this through Penn Foster though I haven't had the materials sent to me yet. I have read in the forum that some people are taking lsu's distance education managerial accounting course, I also saw that BYU offers a course as well when I was looking. You could also probably take the course at your local community college as well. I believe cookderosa mentioned the winter minimester as a quick alternative though I don't remember if it was for this or math, but that might be an alternative as well. I know our local community college offers the course online as well.
