My work offers to pay for a certain amount of classes each year, my goal is to use that up. I think the schools on my list at the moment are penn foster and KCTCS(learn on demand). I like the idea of self progressed, works well with my work schedule. Looking into the TEEX free credits as well. I was really excited when I got my email! CLEP/DSST are also possibilities as well.
Anyone have any other good ideas on other sources of classes/credits I can do.
Does KCTCS count as a Community College, They did note that they only take 80 credit hours of junior, county or community college credit. They did take 6 credit hours and put into my free electives, which I could knock out some FEMA's to replace another 6 CC credits if that works.
Thanks everyone for your help!

Call TESC. I think that your pre-calc class can be switched. Congratulations on getting your evaluation. You have some requirements which can be met with what most of us consider low hanging fruit tests. Did you have a time line in mind?

My goal is end of the year, possibly unlikely; but I'm going to get it my best!

Tayon,
Would you mind telling me when you sent your application in? On May 12th you posted about having applied in this (
http://www.degreeforum.net/excelsior-tho...post146882) post and it's not clear if you had just applied or had applied some time before that post. I'm wondering because I'm been waiting on mine and I applied on May 9th. Hopefully this is a good sign that they are getting close. As of this morning the eval hasn't been updated yet.

When did the acknowledge getting your transcript? I applied the end of April and sent my transcripts in then, they got them and took some time processing them, then my roughly 5 weeks time frame to get my eval back. Hope this helps, it really depends on when you sent your transcripts. Hope you hear good news soon!

For all my transcripts I've only ever received an email from TESC once acknowledging receipt. I continue to to send transcripts as I complete tests and courses but based on their website they received all my original transcripts as of May 20. So it's been 4 weeks since they received my transcripts. Hopefully the fact that I continue to knock out classes and tests, sending them transcripts every other week doesn't end up delaying the completion of my eval.

You may have answered your own question. Since they only perform two evaluations before you enroll, each time you send a new transcript that could be resetting their system to say that you are still sending in transcripts, so they are waiting another 4-5 weeks to see if any more are received, before doing the evaluation.

I also have tuition reimbursement at work. I know each company is different, but in my case they would pay for any classes that you were using towards a 2 year or 4 year degree, as long as you were enrolled. In my case I paid the TESC enrollment fee, then took one ALEKs class. I submitted the passing ALEKs grade and their $20 fee along with the TESC enrollment fee to my employer who then reimbursed me the entire amount. They also paid for Straighterline classes. You should check if your employer will reimburse you for these non-traditional methods as they can really make a difference in the time to completion and/or amount you have to pay out of pocket - in my case the reimbursement was capped at $5,000/year which the enrollment fee really eats into, leaving not much for "traditional" classes.

Your not past the 5wk mark since TESC received your original transcripts, so there's nothing out of the ordinary here. However, your thought that all your CBE results might gum up the works is an interesting concern. I suggest you email
registration@tesc.edu with your questions. At this address you will immediatley receive a no-reply email that assigns a problem ticket number to your query. I have always gotten back a "problem solved" response within 1-2 days.
