I concur with everyone else's suggestion to take DSST Civil War & Reconstruction rather than Rise and Fall of the Soviet Union. I took the Civil War exam and passed quite easily and am now studying for the Soviet Union exam which seems much harder to study for.
Good luck,

I was told by a lot of people the same advice, I took the Soviet Union test with only studying the questions and passed with a respectable score. I am currently studying for the civil war test and hope to do well on that also.
Good luck

I'd recommend Civil War & Reconstruction as a substitute for the Soviet Union exam. Assuming you attended a U.S. elementary/secondary school and stayed awake during history classes, you already know the major players and events.
Ditto on the Civil War. And most of the resources are free or inexpensive. Check out the exam feedback on this one. Priceless...

I find that grouping either very similar or very DISsimilar tests together is the easiest. If they are very similar (a lot of overlap), you can knock out two birds with one stone, so to speak. If they are very dissimilar, you do not run the risk of mixing up tests.

Great advice! I see many posts stating that 2 DSST tests are available for the same subject since many are being updated right now. Do we really have a choice when we test? I am testing Here's To Your Health online and don't think I'll be able to choose one over the other. It's my first test in the process as well so I'm just curious...

Keep us updated. I want to see that this is doable. Are you only using instantcert?

I will make sure to keep everyone updated. My schedule slipped from the original plan posted since I had to work for about 10 days in Argentina and then I got sick upon my return. Enough excuses now though...going on a 1 test a week schedule.
Using only Instantcert and whatever recommendations Specific Exam Feedback has.
