Interesting. A Nigerian article, telling Nigerians how to spot fraud by foreigners. And a very good idea it is, too. Unfortunately, it's not very comprehensive. American system mentions CHEA but not DOE, and a few other things that could have been useful on National accreditors as well.  Also, the list of bogus schools is pretty sparse, and many of the schools mentioned are ones that died or were shut down 25-30 years ago. 

No doubt Nigerians need info about bogus overseas schools - but they need to know WAY more than what's provided here. Axact alone has over 300 (probably more like 500) "schools" and most of those sites simulate US schools. Some say they're located in specific states and towns etc. Remarkably American looking, complete with traditional buidings lifted from the sites of respected American schools.

What Nigerians need to know about bogus schools, if they're looking outside their own country, could probably fill one or a couple of semester-long courses at a legitimate Nigerian university!
